Morocco have probably marginally outplayed France so far and really don't deserve to be losing.

If they perform like that in the 2nd half? Still in with a chance.

Saiss should not have played. Was obviously still injured from the 1st minute.

Latvian gambling sites all have the final practically on 50/50. That's how I feel as well.

France got extremely lucky that Upamecano got ill and they replaced him with Konate, and that's not my club bias speaking - that's a massive upgrade. Deschamps will always be a legend because of 1998, but he cab be slow to make adjustments. Hopefully he sticks with the change for the final even if Upamecano is healthy.

I just hope the game will be interesting as I'll be watching it in a cinema from VIP balcony. #richbitchlife

Joking, a buddy of mine works for one of the main sponsors.

I see that FIFA is rethinking their dumb idea to have 16 groups of 3 teams at the 2026 World Cup. The idea was that 2/3 teams would qualify from all groups in a round of 32.

I heard an idea that would allow for 4 team groups that I really like. Top 8 1st place teams get a bye to the round of 16. The next 4 1st place teams and the 12 2nd place teams go into the "round of 32". The only drawbacks are that it would add and extra week or so to the length of the tournament (not a huge issue, IMO) and that teams from the same group would inevitably end up on the same side of the bracket (again, not a huge issue, IMO).

Seems like an easy solution, which would also guarantee that the third match day would mean something to all teams, making an already chaotic match day more entertaining.

How will FIFA screw this up?

The countdown to whistle is the dumbest gimmick ever.
Qatari ref in this game is another dumb gimmick.

Nice play by the Morrocco goalie

ziyech is such an enigma. I understand we probably haven't used him enoigh/correctly, but man this guy just looks so much more dialed in when he's playing for country than he does club.

If Konate starts the final would have started the Champions league and World Cup Final in the same year.

I started looking this up and it definitely more common than I thought. Still would be a great accomplishment.

Hoping for a good final. A nice story, either way.

Tough final to predict; could make an argument for either team. France has more offensive weapons, which probably gives them the edge.

Just hope it doesn't go to penalties.
Ya I’m also looking for no penalties. Wouldn’t mind an extra time goal or two. Loved the Italy-Germany game in 06 for ex

France playing nervy, which apparently means you shove players into your own keeper.

Romero made the most of it to ensure he caught a good piece of Lloris.

Argentina has clearly come in with the plan to involve Di Maria as much as possible...
