Tatar looks like he’s still whining. I get him being pissed off originally but his team won and it looks like he’s still just annoyed. Even when they scored the empty netter.

Slavkovsky looks amazing. Super impressed by him. I'm scared he may be picked #1. Personally not a big fan of Wright so that'd be a big bummer for me, rather have Cooley or one of the Dmen

So, Slafkovsky with 2 assists, a few shots, one crossbar, many high danger chances. He was VERY noticeable.

Slafkovsky had a really nice well rounded game. Led the slovakian team in ice time. Was the most active forward generating the most dangerous chances. His awareness was exceptional. I was very surprised at how good his hands were and how sound he plays defensively. Always in front of the net creating traffic. Got two assists, was on ice for three of the goals. Hit the crossbar late in the game. Just an impact player.

I wouldn't worry about it. Montreal isn't going off the board when drafting in front of their fans. They'll take the surefire Canadian C that's been the consensus for years.

Yes this. With the draft in Montreal in front of their fans and the first time in decades they pick #1 , no way in hell they deviate off the board and draft a winger. They go with the Canadian kid at C . I’d be shocked as hell if they did not take Wright.

I sure hope so, Wright has been giving me Nolan Patrick vibes

So what your saying is that we don't have to act like this when watching Slaf?

If Montreal does pick Slafkovsky, the Devils should then go with Nemec who looked like a stud in this game. That kid was all over the ice. Plays like an NHL Pro. I doubt Jiricek can top the performance Nemec put out today which is why you evaluate the player on intangibles and not flashy play. Nemec is the best defenseman of this draft without question.

Couple thoughts from the SVK vs. FRA game:

Slafkovsky:
- Came as advertised. Was very noticeable. Played great on the boards. One play he had two guys on him in the corner. Slaf managed to poke the puck into empty space. Teammate picked it up and passed a quick one timer to another teammate in front of the net who shot it wide. Felt like looking into the future if he plays with Bratt and Jack.

- Slaf was also good defensively. He was out a lot in the final three minutes up by one and played very well.

- Slaf was also great in tight and had great coordination. Had a real good scoring chance when he kicked a loose puck to his stick and shot it in one motion in tight. Showed his quick hands again when he navigated between two sticks and launched a shot off the cross bar.

- Only knock was he maybe dangled too much. It sometimes worked though and it was definitely impressive to see from a big guy.

Nemec:
- A knock coming into the tournament was that Nemec's defensive game needed to improve. I would've loved to see him out in the final three minutes to defend the one goal lead, however he sat the whole time. I also would've loved to see him out vs. Texier and France's other best players, but it didn't happen.

- Nemec played LD as a right hand shot a few times. Biggest positive I saw is he did a great job moving laterally with the puck on the blue line. Launched a couple wristers and a few made it to the net.

- Nemec wasn't very noticeable, which is fine for a defenseman. I wanted to see him in the DZone more and it didn't really happen. His biggest strength is moving pucks up the ice under pressure, primarily with excellent passing, however he didn't get many attempts to demonstrate this.

Do we want to give the Arizona GM a heartattack?

Slaf looked good from what I saw. One of the announcers noticed he stays on the ice for longer than his other linemates, A skilled minute-eater would fit right in.

Also, I liked what I saw on the power play.

Not sure who is knocking Nemec’s defensive game. It’s very good from everything I’ve seen.

Did anyone see how Luke was?
I watched for a bit in the first. 2 bad turnovers leading to good chances against. Was also quarterbacking the second powerplay and seemed to be doing alright in the one that I watched.

Can’t comment on the rest of the game
