If they can bring that more consistently with the advantage I'll certainly feel more confident going into the rematch. As it stands, give Canada the edge in goaltending and special teams.

Canada did a good job blocking PP shots. The US needs work on moving the puck better and getting shots from the dots. Too many of the US shots were from above the circles. Those are low percentage shots and easy to save.

The rivalry you know and love. Fun game, if not lacking some of the final act theatrics that usually accompany these affairs. Your typical crowd-pleasing summer popcorn blockbuster delivered during the dead of winter. I give it a 7A.

canada was clutch. America came more ready against Canada, than Canada against America. Our younge defense got stormed, and this can't happen again. I take this win anyway, but it can't happen again or else its a silver.

53 27 shots favored the Americans. they did get 6 power plays which is like 4 shots against per power play but those were well called penalties.

Pretty poorly reffed game, if you ask me.

Completely one-sided penalties and the Poulin penalty shot was a headscratcher considering she got such a good shot off the first time.

Discouraging game for the Americans. Playing Canada on the back-to-back (a game that started late too) and Canada playing maybe their C game and still getting beat. They’ll have to play how the did in the first half all game in the Final if they want Gold.

Yep, since Wickenheiser declined it’s been Poulin. Probably around 2013-2014. By 2025 it’s likely Fillier though.
