This post is about the Sweden-US game.

Yes, they did. It was a blow out, total domination. Not competitive at all. The SOG numbers are totally misleading. Very few Scoring Chances, lots of soft tosses toward the nets and easy long range Saves.

I've been a hockey fan for a long time and rarely have I seen a PK actually dominate a PP like this game; it was truly exceptional. The only thing significant about the late Swe PP goal was that it ruined the Shutout for the goalie, it had zero effect on the game's outcome.

Were you at the game? I honestly can't believe anyone who saw that game would claim it wasn't a blow out.

The game was a blow out as the final score clearly indicates but to me "total domination" generally involves one team being pinned in their own zone the majority of the game while the other has constant possession and creates a huge number of scoring chances. It's really just a semantics issue so there's no point arguing over it.

Yeep shoots are only intresting when NA teams wins it, not when they lose it, same thing every time. I would maybe be ok with it if you would settle with saying that USA was little better but won with a few to many goals. Shoots are not everything, but shoots are not easy created, why do you think smaller nations almost never win the shoot stats against the bigger nations? if it was so easy, we would see smaller nations very often outshoot the bigger nations with a lot.

Since shoot is not easy created, you simple can not say that they where dominating when they being outshoot 24-35.

Any highlights from SUI-SWE?

Well, 1-0 Sweden after one period. Has been pretty one-sided and the Swedes look much, much faster than this young Russian team. Sweden's forecheck has been excellent. Russian goalie with a few decent saves, but Lias Andersson's backhand goal did not seem unstoppable.

Still just a one goal game. Need to score some more in the 2nd or I have a feeling this could be close. The Russians doesn't seem to be able to create any offense.

So as expected, winner of FIN-CAN faces Switzerland and loser faces Russia in the QF games.

Unfortunately, it seems our boys can't really compete against the best teams with this young, unprepared team. At least we scored a goal.

Barely noticed him. He's been very inconsistent like the whole team.

that's a bit unfair. Nylander was the only player that produced in every game until today and he still is the point leader. Without him Sweden is playing for regulation, remember he scored in the end vs latvia and he was the sole reason we beat swiss.
