Despite great game against Canada and a solid perfomace against Finland, I can see us losing to either Denmark or Slovaks, which could very well put us in the 4th spot thus getting destroyed by U.S.A again. That's just the way Czech national teams roll. (Make you hopeful after games against strong teams and then struggle against the, on paper, weak ones)

exactly, especially in case like this one, when we just can't score a goal. Our youngest player is most productive. :help:

Our shooting % is the worst on the tournament...:help:
We scored 4 goals on 68 shots.

Zadina is damn good, I wouldn't say it's that sad he is our most productive player. It's sad other forward can't even provide some secondary scoring.

Svechnikov is unbelievable. Born in 2000, I'm not sure he has turned 16 yet. His goal in the 1st period was an unbelievable physical effort, but he made it look so easy! He just glides around the ice and handles the puck as if it was on a string. Very impressive.

I'm quite impressed with the boys today, very calm and collected, playing with skill, speed and vision.

He is 16 years and 23 days old :) I wish Russian development system handled special talents better, Svechnikov would have been better off playing in MHL this season than crushing guys of his age.

sweden should fire their coach. pathetic display against the swiss again.

Nylander has been great this game, his 2nd goal was nasty.

I don't really understand why they start with the second PP unit so often. The 1st unit has scored all 3 PP goals and looked a lot more dangerous.

typical swedish coach playing sosse hockey. Everybody should play.

Should only have 5. The 5-1 goal was assisted by Liljegren, he's been robbed by the stat keepers twice in this tournament now, maybe they will change it later.

atleast the future is bright with both liljegren and nylander.

Here's to hoping that Denmark can upset Czech Republic tonight to avoid relegation round. If anyone runs to a stream, send me a message! Not too keen on paying $25 to just watch one game at 3am. :)

The US team didn't dominate the game.

This post is about the Sweden-US game.

Yes, they did. It was a blow out, total domination. Not competitive at all. The SOG numbers are totally misleading. Very few Scoring Chances, lots of soft tosses toward the nets and easy long range Saves.

I've been a hockey fan for a long time and rarely have I seen a PK actually dominate a PP like this game; it was truly exceptional. The only thing significant about the late Swe PP goal was that it ruined the Shutout for the goalie, it had zero effect on the game's outcome.

Were you at the game? I honestly can't believe anyone who saw that game would claim it wasn't a blow out.

Ya at a bit older than his age Malkin and co were playing Russia3 with men.
