GDT: WJC U18 - Gold Medal Game

I'm liking the hockey so far. Some pretty nice scoring chances and equally nice saves. I'd say Finland is playing just a bit better so far.
 
Finally a penalty. Swedes uses their sticks little too much. Maybe they thought nothing is called in a gold medal game.
 
Finland is so effective and determined, best juniorhockey nation in the world atm.

Swedish goalie has had a poor start. Should probably change at this point if their backup is any good, since his confidence must be pretty low at this point. SWE can still come back, there's two periods left.
 
Unbelievably bad decision-making from the swedish team they almost never make the right decision whether they should hold on to the puck or make the quick pass.
 
Very impressed by Finland's play so far. Last year physicality was in my opinion one of the biggest weaknesses and it showed against USA in the final. This year we are the ones with that advantage. Also very good defense, seems like Välimäki is good to go.
 
Im not sure guys but how was Tuulola ranked before the tournament? I guess he was something like 2nd-4th rounder. But he seems really promising and a NA player so 2nd round should be possible.
 
If Finland wouldn't be known for blowing a 5-1 lead against SWE I could be excited as f***. Btw, I guess Puljujärvi's wrist is "ok" for normal play but it hampers his shooting. This based on that he didn't actively look for a shooting lane during the PP but concentrated on passing and playmaking.

Anyway, great game so far - keep it up boys!
 
Just what I expected...

Finland beat USA 4-2.
Sweden beat Canada 6-5.

USA beat Canada 10-3.
So this has to be something like 7-1...let's make it traditional: 6-1;)
 
Finland is much better and it is no surprise that sweden seems to lose another final. Seriously the leader in this federation have to sit down and ask why this happen over and over again, why swedish teams play their worst when it really matters? Maybe they should hire new coaches instead joke coaches like Grönborg and dinosaurs like Bendelin, why can this coaches keep their jobs and even get promoted when they fail over and over again when it really matters? If not fire the coaches, what else are federation doing? Are they doing something? Because it is a repeating pattern that sweden are horrible in the medal games. This is the 5th final in just WJC 18, and 0 gold.
