GDT: WJC U18 - Gold Medal Game

Tough season for him with all the injuries. Never really got into same form he was last year. 4th rouder seems likely, can't teach size :sarcasm:
 
Excelent period by Finns but i think they are a bit lucky to be a head 3-0. Anyway game is anything but over, Sweden has potential to easily come back.
 
I expect that Sweden has changed goalie when period 2 starts.

Sweden is the master of comebacks. They will score at least 4 goals this game. It's another question if Finland will answer with goals. I think Finland will.
 
Fantastic hockey being played in the first period by this Finnish team. Defensemen with confidence (unlike Sweden), hardworking forwards that drive the net and some flashy and skilled guys as well.

Sweden's major problem (goaltending aside), which has also been the case earlier in the tournament, is the passing game from the defenseman and the inability to safely protect and play the puck out of their own zone.

Will be an interesting third period.

3 goals is maybe one or two goals to much, but finland has been a lot better than sweden. Sweden never brings it in the medal games, it has to be a dream to face sweden in a medal game, because you know you will win.
 
goalie looks more nervous than a pedophile on how to catch a predator.

Well luckily these kids don't come from those loser generations. It seems that these younger Finns have that winning culture. At least I hope so.
 
Good that thay called it no goal, even though this might hurt us. I didn't even understand why they'd review that, the situation had passed.
 
Seems like every shot by the Finns leads to a good scoring chance. The Swedish goalie needs to get his **** together.
 
the finnish team is to well organized and the swedish coaching is not innovative enough to get around that.

Yes thats what i tried to say :D
So far Finns have been better in 2nd period too, im impressed. Also i think that "4th goal" was actually goal. They showed overhead camera that didnt show white between puck and line but i think its because of the angle overhead camera showed..its not straight from goal pipe to line :help:

I am not impressed with the recent generations of Swedish jr goalies. They are all modelled like mediocre Canadian goalies out of Allaire's school 10 years ago. All about being passive and jsut playing by probabilities. It may work well with junior level shot quality and tight defence - but the road in NA will be rocky.
 
Yeah, momentum shifting slightly to Sweden but luckily Luukkonen is playing great :)
