I find it fascinating that a game between awkward pimply teenagers can evoke such defensiveness, hockey tribalism, vitriol and emotional attachment. It's quite the study of sports fan psychology.

Let's not forget as well that this tournament isn't "best on best" either because each year some of the best 18 and 19 years old are already in the NHL.

Wait....am I the only one here who thinks it's more disrespectful to your opponent to stop competing once you have a big lead than it is to run up the score?

Realistically the Danes had no chance of beating Canada, so the most respect Canada could have shown them is by competing for the full 60 minutes. I feel that exact same way about the time the Russians beat Latvia 14-0 or any other major blow out.

As a Rangers fan, I am, and have been, rooting for a good performance from Kravtsov (another threat) which he has been delivering. If he gets more free rein from his coach to use his smarts and skills, he can do some real damage too. Of course, I like seeing him do well as it relates to NYR's future.
I'm leaving all the past WJC memories behind for this game, and will use the 'ignore' feature as needed for this thread.
