Yeah that’s the only thing it can be. Weird. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a play like that beforeThis my man.
60.1. HIGH-STICKING
A “high stick” is one which is carried above the height of the opponent’s shoulders. Players must be in control and responsible for their stick. However, a Player is permitted “accidental contact” on an opponent if the act is committed as a normal “windup or follow through” of a “shooting motion”, or “accidental contact” on the opposing center who is bent over during the course of a “face-off”. A wild swing at a bouncing puck would not be considered a normal “windup or follow through” and any contact to an opponent above the height of the shoulders shall be penalized accordingly. '
Yeah they are not pressuring any of the German players.Soft box play by Canada.
Feels like their own zone play in general is just very lax.Soft box play by Canada.
This wording makes it seem like a much worse call. It was definitely a shot attempt but he didn't hit the puck.So apparently the refs deemed it a wild swing rather than a shooting motion.
halifax is a really good teamHow is Dumais the top point getter in the CHL?
As long as they stay out of market garden territoryCanada went into this game expecting D-Day but then it turned into Dieppe so now we will settle for Dunkirk.
That's how I recall it being as well. I remember a Finnish player getting a penalty for it.Looked up the IIHF Rulebook and under high-sticking penalties I found this, so I guess it is a penalty:

What shot attempt? He never had the puck. If you swing at puck then it should be a penalty if you hit the opponent. Only if he actually takes a shot and hits him on the follow through should it be no penalty. This wording makes it seem like a much worse call. It was definitely a shot attempt but he didn't hit the puck.
I mean....he had zero chance of finding that puck lol it was deflected and he had his own man and the Germany completely covering him.Inevitable.
Rousseau is small and pretty garbage at finding shots, on top of everything else.
