If Downie hadn't went down, you could barely see if he even got hit. Terrible view.

Have to say that the officials kind of let that type of anger build up. Canada and US were nailing each other well after the play was over all night long.

Even game. Hopefully there will be a rematch.

Not to turn this into a fighting arguement but...

Pulling the goalie was ridiculous. I understand the desire to win the pool, but you're playing for pride, above all. Maybe with 30 seconds to go, but not a full minute and a half. A win, even if it comes by an empty net goal, charges up the Canadians for the rest of the tournament. Sucks that a great, evenly-played game is decided that way. I feel ripped off.

Great game for Canada. aside from the powerplays, the US didn't have much. Definitely over hyped.

That was a really stupid play by Jack Johnson, but it could have been a lot worse. I haven't seen a close up replay of it yet, but it looks like he didn't catch Downie full-on. Really stupid move nonetheless.

Definitely, that was an exciting game.

How funny, JJ player of the game? He shouldn't get crap after what he did, I don't care if he didn't get him full on, that's down right dirty.

I love rivalries... we'll kick your *** next time.

Take your win and be happy this time.
There won’t be.. will Canada-Russia final as usual… Yanks are over rated big time.

Get a clue. We had to pull the goalie. Forget charging up the Canadians, go for the #1 seed. A tie = a loss.

I guess Canada wins, not a real win, but a win. If that makes sense. :D

Overall an exciting game and I believe both teams will be in the finals. I seriously can't wait for that!

Players of the game:

USA - Jack "the elbow" Johnson
Canada - Justin Pogge

What a good game, too bad it ended the way it did with Johnson, but that should possibly fuel the final game even more. See you guys then. :)

stop making excuses for the USA sucks chant.. its classless and pathetic .. no excuses. Two wrongs don't make a right.

That is J.J.'s problem...I saw something similar against Miami of Ohio. He is a talented player but must realize when to lay off. As an American I am disappointed.

Cheers to a fun game to watch.

If Johnson was Bertuzzi the Americans would be up in ****ing arms with that elbow...

Yeah, and we lost anyway. The second Schneider was pulled, the game was over. I knew it. Maybe you didn't, but I did.

Cheers, my Canadian friend.

I love it. The Canadians win on an empty net goal and all of a sudden we are overrated after playing back-to-back nights.....

We very well could lose in this tournament, especially now that we have to play another game. However, considering how evenly this game was played....It is laughable some of the comments being said.

Both times played hard. It should have been a tie.

I still would like to see a different angle on that elbow to Downie. JJ needs to get his act together....
