They wanted to give Edmonton/Red Deer fans a chance to see the games this year after being bubbled out last year. They also made the accommodations plans before Omicron. They rolled the dice as you said.

The issue is the hotel since they are sharing it with the general public. Apparently that same hotel will host a wedding tonight.

Cost saving alternative by some short sighted dummies. You want revenues and tourney to be safe and smooth. Make the hotel private and only teams stay there. Pricey but everything would’ve been fine

I believe I heard earlier in the week that each team is staying at its own hotel...all being used by the general public in Red Deer and Edmonton as well. Looks like teams in Red Deer are really getting hit hard.

Just cancel the tournament and reschedule it for the summer. this is not what the kids signed up for, fans signed up for, and it's a waste of time. The whole point of vaccinations was to move on with it, but here we are, still trying to end the cold (not actually a cold, but how it mutates) and we're not accepting our reality. It's hilarious we see daily counts for covid but what about death counts? hospitalization? Use common sense, tell the player he has to sit out, test everyone, if you're negative go play...the NFL has crushed covid. I love how they're are dealing with it. total professional.

My personal favourite here in Ontario is I can eat a meal side by side with you in a restaurant but can’t eat anything side by side in my individual seat at a movie theatre. Explain that one. Anyways, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion on Covid. I believed the danger when the original virus and Delta came and went but now it’s getting a little silly when most aren’t having symptoms but we’re still reacting like it.

The NFL has crushed Covid...lol

they have, absolutely, think about all the fans/players/coaches and there was a handful of games that were rescheduled. They were able to keep it going and didn't cancel the league/games for a a couple players. They were always read to rock and roll. It's been great as a fan.
