Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Yup, I get it Yak. It is definitely an impressive group on paper, but on this board, Twitter, etc. ; the overbearing attitude of fans and the over-confidence in a group of kids that haven't played a game of hockey (mostly) in 10 months is a little disconcerting. I hope those boys don't think it's going to be a cakewalk because I certainly don't.
As for the bolded portion of your post, may I say as a proud Canadian .......... nyet.

The Canadian squad literally lost 2 weeks of practice and games. What an absolutely stupid post.
You do understand that the Canada team has been together the most right? Even with the 2 week quarantine.

I don't see your point here. That's not the the fault of any Hockey Canada organizer or IIHF person so there's nothing unfair about it. If other countries didn't want to get together early because they were all playing pro hockey that's not unfair, that's their choice, or their leagues restriction. The only reason Canada got their guys together early was because they weren't playing, and with other countries leagues playing they didn't want to be the only rusty country. Essentially Canada saw a disadvantage, and tried to overcome it. Not sure if they considered potential covid issues when making that decision but the decision to get together as a group early may have helped i that regard as well.

I must say, being from Canada you rarely get to be a boogeyman on the world stage. It is funny/enjoyable that Canada is, and has long been, the boogeyman residing in the heads of various hockey fans around the world. I'm still waiting for the threads expressing shock and outrage that the referees all come from Canada this year.
He said that this would be the best Canadian team ever to have been entered in the World Junior Championships. You can parse that however you want. And to those who mock his title as the greatest Canadian hockey expert, then why is he paid by your premier sports network to be just that!

Obviously, you won't find anyone who is shocked that all the referees will be Canadian. Outrage would be wasted energy. This tournament belongs to Canada, and probably rightfully should. Canada provides all the funding and all the fandom. The fact is, without Canada, this tournament probably would have died 30 years ago. The expense and rigid protocols of a covid WJC could only happen in Canada. If the tournament were to die out, I wonder if anyone in the USA or Europe would even care. It just never caught on in any of those places, even though their teams win as often as not.
Canada doesn't have a full allotment of players. Nobody does.

Russia's premier hockey tsar admits that the 2021 WJC belongs to Canada. It really makes me wish that we hadn't wasted time faking covid results, trying to infect players, practicing as a team for the last four months, and bringing our good ol' Canadian boy refs.
