Ranked 90 (our second pick) in Bobbys draft is a dude named Brady Cleveland, a big defenseman from the USNTDP program who is going to NCAA (Univ of Wisconsin).

If there's a more Penguin pick I don't know what is :D
Where are Carlos Spicyweiner and Awesone Superballs rated?

Unless they are projected to be the next Hedman, Doughty, or Karlsson, we need to take a high potential forward. Ideally, a highly skilled wing but I would accept a center in the mold of Staal. There are several guys in the 10-20ov range that fit that.

What we need to avoid are the Poulins of the draft where it's "well, we THINK he'll be good...but he's a project since his skating is super sus so we project he'll look for a spot on the team in 7 years".

Photoshop a picture of your face on a Penguins trading card. That's all it takes to get a job in Philly, probably works in Pittsburgh too.

My first order of business were I hired in Philly would be to give Derian Hatcher a job.

...picking up cig butts and Monster Energy cans out of the parking lot.

The same priest that married Mario also married my parents, so maybe I am eligible

Hey ya never know! Maybe seven degrees doesn't just work with Kevin Bacon.

why would you pick a wing over center?
edit; if they are close

My friend's cousin played in Rimouski with Sid and I knew a girl in cegep whose friend had slept with Letang. My aunt knows someone who knows Philippe Boucher.

I might not have direct contacts, but I sure have any third degree connexions to MAYBE have a shot! Thank god for rural Quebec's inbred ways

I mean to be fair I'm betting most of Quebec has slept with Letang.

Pretty cool connections, though. I partied at about the grossest bar even I've even been to with a bunch of Québécois players on the Wheeling Nailers once! That basically not only makes me a prospect but also unofficially of the province.

If the top 13 goes the way McKenzie's list says I would also go with ASP at 14. He's a name-brand that will have a larger role on Skelleftea and a very prominent spot on the WJC team, so he'll maintain his value around the league. And we can't be getting picky about positions, our prospect pool sucks top to bottom. And he's got high upside.

not a bad choice but he seems like more of what we have with poj and smith. still a good pick though. i think i would rather go with one of the two centers around us with Moore or yager if it all goes according to Mck's list I'm going with yager. bit of a risk but lots of upside.

Yeah Moore at 13 is intriguing to me. I hope someone like him or Benson falls.

I'm not picky either. I just want them to actually make the philosophical decision to draft (and start developing) players to HELP the aging core group. Yes, help them.

Do not draft a Russian in round 1. Do not draft a goaltender in Round 1. No left defensemen are worth picking at 14.

Everything else should be on the table.

My three favorites at 14 are Perreault, Yager and Moore. For various reasons.

But there is good talent in the 26-32 range too if they want to trade down either to a) add a second-round pick or b) dump Granlund.

I would trade down and draft Ethan Gauthier.

I don't think any player available is going to help this team while Sid and Geno are around, let alone still playing at a high level.

If the pick is kept and made by the Pens, it'll be a guy who is gonna be a next chapter puzzle piece. Not a foundational piece, probably not a core piece, but hopefully a meaningful supporting cast player.

If the pick is dealt, I don't think it holds enough value to get anybody for immediate help either unless Boston values it (cap hell, ripe for poaching), Calgary values it (mass exodus), or Arizona wants it (Vejmelka+Schmaltz/Crouse for a package including the Pens' 14th overall).
