That’s fine! You’re free to disagree obviously and I respect that. I still don’t like it regardless.

Michigan is really the epitome of the look at me move and anyone that plays knows it.
Look I get that there are many times where guys are doing it to show off but I really don’t think that is the case here.

Should Matthews not have utilized his best chance to score in a close game cause “it’s not the right way”?
That’s just weird

Eh I deleted that post because I didn’t want to cause a shit storm after some thought.

my opinion remains unchanged but I’m happy we got a solid win tonight, that’s all!

Hell of a fun game to watch. Thought Woll was excellent, it wasn't steal the game category, but it was sure as hell our goalie did what was needed and got a win.

Does McCabe-Rielly stick? Best Morgs has looked in a spell.

after losing 3, the leafs come back and win 3 straight!
No big deal, to quote Willy Ice.

Kind of missed this really, I hope that good ol' dope smoking Leafer is livin his best life. He was a funny dude and the Leafs #1 fan.
I’m gonna sound old here but I don’t like that Michigan attempt from Matthews.

Any other player I wouldn’t care but as the captain, I expect Matthews to not f*** around like that. Be serious and set an example of how to play right. That crap won’t work now let alone an elimination game.

I share your feelings, I mean it's a heckuva skilled move and all. I'm a traditionalist(easy way of saying I'm old as dirt), not saying that players should be barred from trying it, just saying it's the kind of thing best reserved for all-star games🙊

Leafs finally looking like it's really coming together. Solid performance from the net out, hopefully they can summon this kind of effort, such as opening the scoring, getting offensive pressure from all four lines and hard work in their own end and using their physicality when the opportunity is there, in 8 out of 10 starts for the remainder of the season.

That might allow them to win the east, and while it doesn't guarantee anything it might make the road a little less difficult.

Put it in the rear view, and on to the next!

Knies looked really good out there tonight.

His numbers remind me of Kreider the first couple years. Plays a similar style too. The Leafs should really be prioritizing him and Tavares over Marner.

I can't stand Marner though so they'll probably do the exact opposite.

Cooper is still the best coach in the NHL. That quote about organizational standards was spot on. Keeping your players accountable is a lesson the Leafs really need to learn.

When a coach isn't allowed to discipline his team because one of them might get his feelings hurt it's time to get rid of that player.

At this point it really is almost cup or bust. I'll watch the games regardless because I'm a loser with no life. But the majority of fans don't care about regular season or individual success anymore.

Even Knies is just a plug to the Joe Casual playoffs bandwagoner.

I didn't get to see the game because I don't have Prime, but I'm glad that they won, it was an important game against a team that's trying to catch you in the standings.

McCabe really stabalizes our defence.
Since he returned against NJ, He's been on the ice for 5 goals for and only 1 against 5v5.
You can pretty much pair him with any player and he's getting good results.
OEL has also been good the past three games, which makes sense as he was being asked to take on too much responsibility with McCabe out.

Yeah, still got to score the goals.
He (Woll) played really well but the Leafs top 3 players were the best players on the ice for either team, really good effort. Didn't really notice Kucherov much.
Solid team game all around, Tanev and McCabe were excellent as well.

Something weird is happening to me. I’ve always hated the Leafs, probably just because they’re always on tv and I just have to root against the home team….but I will say that this is one helluva good team and one helluva exciting team to watch as a hockey fan. They look solid top to bottom. I expect to see you guys represent the East this year and I hate admitting that I would really enjoy watching a Cup finals with them in it. Leafs vs Avs or Oilers would be great hockey. Best of luck the rest of the year.

Priority #1 should be to bring in one more top 4 or heck, a top 2 dman. I agree that McCabe's presence is too important. Tanev too. We need one more to insulate ourselves incase one goes down on or before playoffs.

100%. I just wish Bobby Mac scored that one in the end. He deserved it.

Over the next six games we have...

Jan 22nd Columbus Blue Jackets - 7-2-1 in their last ten, and on a hot streak. We lost 6-2 last time we played them, Home
Jan 25th Ottawa Senators 5-3-2 in their last ten. We lost 3-0 last time we played them, Away
Jan 29th - Minnesota Wild, having a great season, 6-4 last ten, lost 2-1 in OT last time we played them, Home
Feb 1st - Edmonton Oilers 8-2 in their last ten, Leafs won 4-3 in OT last time we played. Away
Feb 4 - Calgary Flames 5-5, fighting for a WC spot. Haven't played them this year. Away
Feb 6 - Seattle Kraken (10pm start) 4-5-1 last ten, playoff dreams fading. 4-1 win last time. Away

One paper, this is four teams we should beat, and two challenging games, but we didn't play well against Columbus or Ottawa last time we played them... A good result of 8-10 points here, and we can further distance ourselves in the lead for the division.
