As long as he’s not bringing Matt Murray over with him…
that's not funny man ;)
leafs get swept by the cats though there is a decent chance dubas is outta there though.

i really hope we don't hold on to our 1st round pick. who cares if we get a prospect with 3rd line upside in 2-3 years from the draft. use the pick to get a goalie.
and ifyou are not trying to improve the team for next season then go full rebuild, sign jarry because that will assure a better draft position and trade away crosby/malkin/letang for as much as you can get.

Who do you think the Pens are getting for the 14th overall? Cuz the Jets and Preds sure as shit aren't gonna deal two of the best goalies in the game for anything short of a huge return--and something like the 14th overall, Pickering and POJ ain't a huge return.

Keep the pick. The prospect cupboard is dogshit and it's time to start assembling pieces that might be ready for this team to start to work its way back to relevance in a handful of years. The era's over, the team's cooked. JR, Hextall and Sullivan made sure of that, and nobody's gonna come in and salvage this shit.

At 14th? Probably not getting much in the way of a big piece of the future as is. I mean, you might be able to use it to swipe someone away from a team in cap hell, but that's a big unknown. Probably have a better chance of keeping it and hoping whatever you do pick up ends up being a home run.

that may be the norm, but it's not this year. with where we are picking there are going to be some very good players left on the board.

I don't think the Preds are going to let Saros go period. I don't know why everyone thinks they will. Even Helly is a question mark. Jets still have a decent roster. They're just in that WC slot like we are because they don't have the number of premium high-end talents like the other teams do.

Still a projection with not great odds that whatever player we select there is going to be a top six forward or top two D…and they wouldn’t be ready for a few years probably..we could get lucky but hard to count on that

true, and with not knowing who is going to be there when we pick, it's hard to disagree with you. but there are a number of players with good size and already playing in a men's league. so, making the jump is not as big a reach as some might think. imo

"The draft is a gamble and the player picked won't help this era so we might as well trade the pick for a player of Kapanen or Zucker's caliber to play in the middle-6."

I just want the Pens to pick in the top-5 because the hockey world would lose their minds. I don't anticipate them making the correct choice with their scouting group, I just wanna see the reaction to them leaping up in the ranks.

With the 4th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, the Pittsburgh Penguins select ....
Darrin Shannon?

I don't know if it's all or nothing. Is that right? They can't just like plop up to like 9th overall?
No. But they could pick 15th from what I understand. So 4, 14 or 15.
If Nashville or Calgary win, we drop a spot. :(

I don't want Bedard in Philly, that's about all I really care about. He's such a good prospect that I imagine not even that organization and coach could f*** his career up. Though, if anybody could... f*** Chicago too, that franchise can rot for eternity.

Anaheim or San Jose are probably the places I hope he ends up.

Lottery draft so Pens maybe get luck and move up to a much better spot. I think they can move a max of 10 spots. BUt I like Wood as a RW and they are not in the hunt for a top center or RD at 14. Any top 10 pick is a start here.
