I remember buying ESPN NHL hockey, which was a game on the ps2 when I was like 12. I liked the franchise mode and I was always picking the Thrashers because they had Kovalchuk and Heatley. Then I proceded to trade for Hasek and trade all my players for players just a bit higher in ratings, good times. Now I feel old with this news.

About as long as the crime rates down there in ATL have been high. Toronto makes Atlanta look like chump-change, I doubt you wanna go there.

And if you were talking about the ATL Hawks then that's not really impressive, the Hawks were bottom 3 for attendance in the NBA for most of the Thrashers attendance. Neither were really supported, the Thrashers just got slightly more in that time frame.

Bad ownership can drive fans away and the same ownership owned both the Thrashers and Hawks. I suggest you watch the mini documentary posted on the first page. Atlanta isn’t unique to this ether ownership can drive fans away from a team in any sport if they are bad.
