With the news today that Andrew Ladd will not play again, 3 Thrashers remain:

Bogosian
Kane
Wheeler

Just thought it was interesting

The team did suck at drafting. They'd get the odd hit once in a while, but otherwise that team didn't really have good scouting. The only really good picks they made were in the top three and one of them was the biggest bust in NHL history.

Well, to give Patrik Stefan a break he wouldn't be deemed a bust if he wasn't drafted so high. Other than being the first-overall pick he was a very solid NHLer.

Just remember on the Jets our top prospects coming in the return was Carl Klingberg before drafting Scheifele.

what a stupid name for a pro hockey team
I have yet to figure out what a “Red Wing” is. Or why a New York team is named for a Texas law enforcement agency (alright, it comes from the first owner “Tex” Rickard but still….). Plus it always struck me as strange in 1972 the Nixon dirty tricks people smeared Ed Muskie by falsely claiming he used the word “Canucks” yet the Vancouver team has that nickname.

There are more than those 3 I believe, at least that were drafted as Thrasher though he never played any regular season games in their jersey.

Ben Chiarot comes to mind, 4th round for the Thrashers in 2009

Funny, I was coming to this thread to heap praise on the team name, logos, and jerseys.

The name was rooted in the area, and it's unique. "Thrashers" sounds distinct and aggressive. I think they had some of the best looking sweaters, too. The vibrant colours were amazing. And the name and logo are both cool and original.

Dear Yankees, Canucks, Europeans and Northerners:

Please bear in mind one of the original names for Atlanta was Thrasherville

The name has nothing to do with aggression or creating an absurd 90s team name.

It is deeply rooted in the history of our people.

Some respect, please
