Nobody not a single person looks at it like that. You don’t include someone salary lol I get you don’t like De ligt for some reason but this post is hilarious.
Of course you include salary when you overpay that much.
It's really like you spent 10 more million on the transfer. :dunno:

And I don't care about De Ligt (it's De Jong who has no word that I don't like), but every football fan should hate the fact he's the most expensive defenseman in the world at age 21 while being a good but not great defenseman.
It's exactly what everyone hates about agents.

This is highly ironic given that a week ago you said it’s ok to spend big on prospects. And that even if you flip them it’s a win. You’re not fooling anyone my friend.

I never said that I said United COULD afford to spend 40M on a prospect.
I never said they'd make profit.

You OTOH are not fine with spending 40M on a young winger, but you're not only fine with Juve overpaying like crazy for De Ligt but you maintain they'll make profit out of him.

How stupid is your reasonning?

You were arguing it’s ok to spend big on prospects.

I never said I wasn’t fine with spending 40 million on a young winger. I also didn’t say they will for sure make a profit on him. I said it would probably happen under certain conditions. Like I said youre not fooling anyone.

And you were arguing it was not OK to spend big on prospects.
And then I said United would only lose something like 15M if he didn't pan out (and thus it was fine they took a chance since they can afford it) and now you're saying it's fine De Ligt was bought for 85M€ with the best salary in the business.

Who's not fooling anyone? Someone who has double standards apparently.

Obviously I would be super fine with Juventus paying 60M for De Ligt and paying him a good salary. But that's not what happenned.
I wouldn't be fine with United spending 90M on a young winger and making him the most expensive winger in the game.

See the difference or you want to continue your hypocrisy?

Totally disagree.
Who else in the top 10 is? Maguire obviously isn’t. De Ligt not yet, but still TBD. Stones, definitely not. Militao not yet. Dias still TBD. Ake is a back up. David Luiz was pretty solid but still not really worth being the most expensive defender at the time.

I listed some examples, Gary too.

I said some work out and for Juve it will/is. I still personally wouldn’t want my team doing this sort of business. De ligt has shown a lot more than players his age too. They paid a premium for potential but he was coming off a great CL run. What I was talking about more was players in lower leagues bought for boat loads.

Is Amad Traore among the most paid wingers in the game? Is he even CLOSE to?
Of course he's less proven than De Ligt was, no question, but he's also less than half the price, at a position where it's more expensive.

Your moving the goal posts that’s entirely another convo from your original response. One I have no interest in pursuing.

Haha, you're clearly not moving the goal posts LOL.

Just to remind you what the discussion was :

Of course you include salary when you overpay that much.
It's really like you spent 10 more million on the transfer. :dunno:

I said De Ligt's salary made it outragous.
You countered with the Traore discussion (which has nothing to do with salary).

Who's moving the goalposts exactly?

:biglaugh:

There's absolutely NO relevance.
You continue to try to use the Traore argument (where you failed then) in the De Ligt argument when it has absolutely NO relevance.
De Ligt is by far the most paid defenseman in the world. Read that as many times as you need to see the problem.
When you have, you'll probably understand the whole point.

No it's Raiola that I hate and Juventus for conceding.
De Ligt took the money, that's his choice, I don't care.

But apparently, you're fine with that. Good, we know where you stand next time you whine about United spending 40M on an exciting young winger. The hypocrisy of you saying Juve will sell him for a profit after writing the following :
Your buying players to get them to produce on the field. Whether or not you find a sucker to offload the bust is another matter you still made a bad buy

Now that's another level of hypocrisy here.
So following your flawed logic, is De Ligt worth being the most paid defenseman and the second most expensive defenseman of all time ON THE PITCH?
The answer is no.

You were laughing and dancing the other day talking about how Dortmund were going to lose money on Haaland. I guess you are fine with Raiola as long as he can potentially hurt a team you dislike. But yeah everyone is an hypocrite except you right?

Laughing and dancing?
I said BVB would lose a lot next summer.
Is there anything in my comment where I said the Haaland deal was a GOOD thing?
Oh you're just trying to make up things. Got it.

De Ligt is not producing like a 85M best paid defenseman in the world.
So, last time you said teams shouldn't overpay for potential and now you say they were right to overpay for potential.

Got it.

Somewhere around the world
As the sole Juve fan on this board I am delighted with De Ligt. He's already twice the player than I bend and stick out my ass to defend and most likely a future captain.
