Neymar said after the game he's feeling great in Paris, is discussing an extension and that leaving isn't crossing his mind.
Meanwhile El-Khelaifi said later that they were discussing contracts with Ney and Mbappe and that he was confidence of an extension because both wanted to stay.

The falling of the Evil spanish empire couldn't have a better timing for PSG.

Honest question, does FFP really matter at this stage? Are they even doing enforcement with revenue all over the place?

With COVID and the reduced revenue, plus with City getting around any major punishments, does it really have the same fear that it could have in the past?

I'm not trying to say that PSG would cook the books, I'm just saying, it's already pretty weak, and I don't know if it would stop them if they could get Messi.
To be honest, PSG has been extremely meticulous of their FFP, especially since they signed Neymar and Mbappe in consecutive summers. I'm not sure they want to be seen as FFP cheaters.

But the best thing about Messi signing with PSG would be Javier Tebas' fascist face choking over his fascist meal.

I mean, I think he's good enough to where he doesn't have to go to Arsenal and play for a year or two and then move. Heck, I think if he was REALLY set on going to England, there's a club or two better who would pay the price to get him there. I could see Spurs at a minimum wanting him, and maybe one or two other CL level sides. Maybe, maybe not.

But, honestly, I think the honest money is on Leipzig, as Leipzig is ALREADY better than Arsenal, has CL, has a better manager (by far, and he'll be there next season definitely) and has a number of Hungarian compatriots, along with a relationship with Salzburg. The only way that doesn't happen is if someone bigger comes in (whether that's Munich or whomever), and I don't think Arsenal fit the bill at this point. Maybe if they had CL to offer.

I pretty much agree that if he doesn't go to Leipzig this window, he'll either to a giant in the summer or pick someone like Dortmund that'll help his development a lot more than playing for Arsenal would.

But if he wants to start cashing in while he takes that next step to the kind of player who walks into Liverpool / Citeh's starting lineup, Arsenal could makes sense because of how little competition he'd face. With Tottenham, I can see him & Ndombele needing some time to figure out how to stay out of each others' way...and Mourinho isn't exactly the most creative coach to help them...but they could make sense too if starting to cash in ASAP is a priority for him.

I mean calling Tebas a facist (not that im defending him) while mentioning PSG in the same sentence makes you look like a hypocrite my friend.

Based on SEPH never not being on his knees for Icardi.

Im not sure what the convo is about because I made a decision that makes this board more bearable but I just know its an insane take. Makes it funnier to read too.

Why is saying Icardi is better than Messi right now crazy? One is top of Ligue 1 in the most competitive year in a very long time and the other spent like half a billion and is floating around midtable with the greatest player to ever play in one of the worst years we've ever seen in La Liga.

I remember when I was criticized by saying that Harry Kane of three years ago or so was better than Messi that particular year. Now pundits from all over is saying he's been the second best striker in the world after Lewandowski this season.

Ligue 1 has been dreadful this year. Except for 2 or 3 teams they're paying the price of the shortened season from last year.

Icardi hasn't played this year because he is either injured or Covid positive.

Hopefully Messi goes to PSG. They spend 600k a week paying his salary. He declines and two years from now PSG are in FFP hell and right back at where they belong. Wouldn't mind a global ban on oil and gas as well.

Not that I have anything against French football. I wear my Metz jersey with pride - and I always supported Marseille as a kid in Europe (ignorant at the time of what was going on).

Will be an interesting window. Maybe more so come summer. RM in trouble. Barcelona a mess. Quite a few of the other "big" clubs underperforming. How does that play out in a Covid-19 economy?

Giorgino Rutter is out of contract this summer.
18 year old, top potential, already scorer in his first CL game.
Every team should be on him.

Didn't they just buy a similar player from Croatia thats out on loan right now? Maybe they anticipate losing both starting CB's for next season.
I assume they think Upamecano will be gone. Gvardiol is out on loan, but he's also only 18.

Might be reading too much into it. The croatian kid they signed is an 18yo prospect with a high ceiling. This is an almost 23yo whose best-case scenario seems like it would be replacing Orban as their 4th CB and is probably being brought in because Klostermann isn't as close to returning as they were hoping he'd be by this point.

E:
I don't think that Gvardiol (the croatian kid) is likely to be ready to start for them next season. Even if Klostermann never returns & they lose Konate/Upa, he's a long-term play.

Olmo has worked out pretty well for them :dunno:

Olmo is Croatian... I meant the superstar Halilovich lol. It had nothing to do with what you're talking about but that just reminded me of another young Croatian.
