Well it's been quite an interesting few weeks. Two weeks ago my only aunt passed away up in Maryland. I didn't go to the funeral since i ended up getting a bad case of strep.

My mom, who has been in a rehab facility the last three weeks with issues with dementia and walking, fell last night and broke her femur. She had surgery this morning to put a rod in her leg. Thankfully that seems to have gone well. But we have some decisions to make on long term care options for her and my stepdad thinks he can still take care of her at home. None of the family, or mom's care team at the rehab place, think that is a good idea. This is going to be a struggle.

Then today I found out a long term employee who just retired last month passed away suddenly in her sleep last night.

Whew.

I need a break. Pass the cookies.
Sending you a truckload of cookies

I won't tell you the Bruins game tomorrow is not on ESPN+

Very random here....we went to Cape Cod for our honeymoon in 1981. It was so amazing, we drove from Mississauga, Ontario, through the White Mountains and then down the coast. I still have my travel souvenirs which include a newspaper from Martha's Vineyard when a Great White Shark had been spotted in the harbour.

We stayed in Bass River and seeing the fishing boats at night on the water was amazing. Our room looked out over the water. I found sand dollars on the beach near Provincetown. We visited Plymouth Rock...lol...not what I expected. Stopped in Bar Harbour and found out it was dry, too funny.

It was a great trip. Maybe we should visit again.

I think everyone reacts as you did when they see Plymouth Rock. For some reason people think it's going to be special to see it, then they see it and it's....a rock. That's it. When I saw it as a kid on a school field trip I felt cheated somehow. Talk about a let down lol

I despise, with every molecule in my body, the two factor authentication crap.

I have a company phone but have always kept my personal phone too. My boss thinks I'm nuts but situations like you just described are just one reason why I like to keep everything separate.

Loathe multi-factor authentication. My agency represents 6 companies. 6 different websites, which means 6 separate usernames & passwords plus verification every.single.time. I log on to them every single day, multiple times a day. Plus having to change passwords every 30-45 days. Plus all the other websites I use in my work. I have a 2 page sheet of usernames & passwords because I can't possibly remember all of them.

Well, it was memorable....lol On the other hand, we took my SIL to Niagara Falls (she lives in England) and she said "I thought it would be bigger". Also the people who go to Stone Henge and post comments like "it's just a bunch of rocks". LMAO!

That's it!! LOL....I thought it would be a huge rock.

Well it is, as they say in the hockey biz, 'as advertised' - it's a rock! A broken rock with a shoddy inscription that William Bradford and his buddies may or may not have once stood on.

I haven't seen the blessed piece of stone for myself, but I have been to the Mayflower Steps in the original Plymouth in England and while they are equally not that impressive, it is interesting to ponder the vast scale and scope of events that in some way have been linked to that one small departing boat.

Sprained my foot for the second time in 2 weeks yesterday, this time bad enough that I have to use crutches to get around.

What.a.pain.in.the.ass.
Oh no, I hope it feels better soon.

Just saw the rock for the first time this past spring, but I knew what to expect. At least it's not a tourist trap. You can just walk up and see it anytime.

Yikes.

Sorry for all of your troubles.

You are due for better days

Y'all.

Y'ALL.

My church is the best. They care. It is the best church I've ever been a part of.

Today a couple of the guys dropped off a note saying they missed me last week when i was out sick, and that they were praying for my mom.

And attached to the note.....cookies.

people were a lot smaller way back then.
Lol but also true....

A couple friends and I went and toured a local historical home a few years ago. They had furniture from the time period in there. Both of my friends are well over six feet tall. One of them asked the tour guide about a piece of furniture and whether we were in a child's room. The guide replied that it was a dressing table for an adult man lol.

And the beds were super tiny as well.

Side note, the walls in that house were close to two feet thick. Amazing to consider old architecture like that.

That is so nice! I am not religious and do not attend church but my Mom loved to knit and she made dozens of prayer shawls for a church in the town where she lived (she didn't attend). A couple of weeks ago an old neighbour of ours knocked on the door and gave me this shawl. She didn't know my Mom, it was her mother who knew my Mom, from yet another town. It is so weird because I never knew this connection. I was stunned because this is one of the shawls my Mom made.....I sobbed, my Mom passed away in June and I ended up with a shawl that she made to comfort others. If this isn't a sign from my Mom, I don't what it is.
