Public service announcement.
If you have a frozen turkey at 20 lbs move to the fridge today.
For every 4 pounds need one day to defrost.

Youre welcome.

😁

I order mine fresh every year from Wilson's Farm in Lexington. I freaking love that place.

When your company makes the decision to change email domain names in the middle of open enrollment when you're trying to communicate with multiple people via email

Very random here....we went to Cape Cod for our honeymoon in 1981. It was so amazing, we drove from Mississauga, Ontario, through the White Mountains and then down the coast. I still have my travel souvenirs which include a newspaper from Martha's Vineyard when a Great White Shark had been spotted in the harbour.

We stayed in Bass River and seeing the fishing boats at night on the water was amazing. Our room looked out over the water. I found sand dollars on the beach near Provincetown. We visited Plymouth Rock...lol...not what I expected. Stopped in Bar Harbour and found out it was dry, too funny.

It was a great trip. Maybe we should visit again.

Well it's been quite an interesting few weeks. Two weeks ago my only aunt passed away up in Maryland. I didn't go to the funeral since i ended up getting a bad case of strep.

My mom, who has been in a rehab facility the last three weeks with issues with dementia and walking, fell last night and broke her femur. She had surgery this morning to put a rod in her leg. Thankfully that seems to have gone well. But we have some decisions to make on long term care options for her and my stepdad thinks he can still take care of her at home. None of the family, or mom's care team at the rehab place, think that is a good idea. This is going to be a struggle.

Then today I found out a long term employee who just retired last month passed away suddenly in her sleep last night.

Whew.

I need a break. Pass the cookies.

My company got rid of company phones last year, which mine was tied to my insurance, 401k account, etc. Fast forward, needed to log in to one of those accounts and the two factor authentication was all set up with the old work phone number that I no longer have.... That was a headache of an afternoon.

I despise, with every molecule in my body, the two factor authentication crap.

I have a company phone but have always kept my personal phone too. My boss thinks I'm nuts but situations like you just described are just one reason why I like to keep everything separate.

Sorry for your troubles Bruinaura.
Sometimes we deserve a team that’s 15-2 to give us a little joy amidst the day-to-day crap.

Sorry to hear about all of this. I hope your stepdad can be convinced not to do this. We just went through this with my Dad who broke his hip and has dementia, my Mom took her life while he was in hospital. My brother insisted he take my Dad even though we all told him it wasn't wise. After two days he realized he was in over his head. My Dad is now in a care facility. Changes really affect the elderly, she would be so much better off in a place where she is safe. My heart goes out to you.

I remember growing up during winter/christmas time there would be like a few BIG movie releases. Does that still happen or did covid kill it?

I think streaming services and covid killed movie theaters tbh.
They still tend to release some of the better movies around Christmas to build some award buzz. I actually saw a couple of ads for interesting ones that I, of course, cannot remember.
