Covid is so weird, my 89 year old Dad got it a couple of weeks ago. He has scarred lungs, uses a puffer, broke a hip in June.....all he got was a runny nose. All 14 residents in his wing are negative now and none if them got very sick. All vaccinated and boosted though.
Thankfully they're all okay

It's kind of the natural progression of a virus, it evolves to become spreadable and less deadly with every mutation. Whichever strain went through them was fortunately a weakened one (and I assume they all had vaccines to buffer their immunity to it as well). It's not the beast it was in March 2020.

Took a couple Advil, my temp had gotten up to 99.2 which is slightly high for me since I'm usually around 97 something. Amd man were my hips and knees ever killing me. Worst pain I've had in a long time. Thankfully the Advil took the edge off of that. Think it's time for another dose and then hopefully I can get some sleep

So, I have some exciting news. After 16 years in HR, I'm trying something "new" for the first time in a while. I've been asked by ownership at my company to take on a bigger role within the organization pushing business objectives forward across departments and will be moving into the Chief Operating Officer position.

I'm simultaneously psyched, humbled, and terrified - which I think is an awesome combination. I remember when I was a senior in college talking about what our career goals were and I randomly threw out that I was going to be a COO by the time I was 40 (I'll be 40 in August). Despite not really knowing what a COO does outside of what you learn in business classes...apparently my 21 year old self wasn't as dumb as I thought she was.

Blue tape walk thru at 10am.
Jet tub works, shower works, painters came, tile all smoothed
Thank goodness it feels and operates like the two months it took. Very grateful.

2) I hope everyone is feeling better soon. Rest as much as you can.

1 FINAL BLAST FROM THE TROPICS as Hurricane Nicole has officially been upgraded; there also could be a major winter storm/Blizzard on tap as well this weekend

Here we go again....tick bite a few weeks ago...working this week and a few times had a twitch in the knee. Today started aching.....usually when I get it, it's in the knee and sometimes so bad can't walk. Called my wife, the vet, and said...umm I think our Bernese Mountain dog Piper needs meds for Lyme. Took first dose tonight....hopefully it kicks in overnight, have a job to do tomorrow which involves climbing ladders.

Looms fine in NH to me

Our hurricane shutters are closed, sandbags around the garage, and are waiting for the storm. Looks like it will be fully here around 2 AM.

Only a cat 1 (barely), but I don't like this track. If this was a more powerful storm we could be in trouble.
