So, I have some exciting news. After 16 years in HR, I'm trying something "new" for the first time in a while. I've been asked by ownership at my company to take on a bigger role within the organization pushing business objectives forward across departments and will be moving into the Chief Operating Officer position.

I'm simultaneously psyched, humbled, and terrified - which I think is an awesome combination. I remember when I was a senior in college talking about what our career goals were and I randomly threw out that I was going to be a COO by the time I was 40 (I'll be 40 in August). Despite not really knowing what a COO does outside of what you learn in business classes...apparently my 21 year old self wasn't as dumb as I thought she was.

Congratulations!!! It is great that you reached your career goal, you should be very proud of yourself. Good luck, I hope it goes perfectly.

Blah this crud keeps hanging on. Going to try to get in to the doctor today. Took a home Covid test and it was negative so that's good at least... although who knows, if they test me at the dr it might be positive

Started my 4th job since I been here today.
Kinda bleh so far especially when I went for full time and they gave me part time. So again on the search for a full time or another part time job.

Funny thing only 1/4 drug tested me

Restaurant- nope
UPS - nope
Capstone - nope
Amazon - yes but they dont care about weed

I had a horrible cold (still coughing but feel much better) . Itook a COVID/ FLU test at CVS and one at home. There is a nasty cold going around

Drink lots of tea and water. I hope you feel better soon..

They tested for flu and strep. And the winner is......strep! Blah. My throat is killing me.

I love my doctor's office. I called at 7:45 and they were able to get me in at 9:45. Usually I see the PA, but today I got to see the doctor, who I haven't had an appointment with in probably a couple years.

So I've been losing weight (intentionally) the last year. I got on the scale, the nurse looks at it and we go in the room. She starts updating my chart and gets a funny look on her face. "What did we say your weight was out there?" So I told her.

Her reaction: "you've lost a lot of weight!!"

Why yes, yes I have. According to their scales, 83 pounds, since this time last year.

The doctor was very happy.

Dry post cold cough is the worst.

The shortage is because it is used for kids and there isn't enough for them either - at least in Canada that is the case. No kid's fever medications in the stores - so many sick kids, it is really sad.

I hope you get better soon! You have probably heard this, but a spoon of honey soothes.

A couple in my church just took their little boy to the ER this week because he had a febrile seizure. Scary. At least he is back home now.

Not sure if I caught the RSV that my niece gave to my mom, or I'm battling that terrible cold that's going around but oof. This sucks. My doctor sucks too. I told him everything, and he was like "just use this other nose spray" -_- Sir, these are the exact.same.symptons I had in June when I got a sinus infection. Just give me some amoxicillian and keep it moving. But alas. Nada. At some point I think I need to change doctors because in the 6 years of going to him, he's given me medicine 3 times. Yup. 3 times. And I practically had to beg for it.

Not feeling seen or heard from him is another thing.

Ah well. Fingers crossed I get better.

Here's a photo of my sister's dog. We've been watching him since last Saturday. Her and the family are in Disney. He knocked down some blinds. He doesn't realize how big he is

My dogs and cat are adjusting to him. Mostly annoyed if anything. He's only 7 months old and my other animals are older so they just don't wanna be bothered but we put out the pull out bed so they all can lay on it. Bruins blanket included. Alls quiet on the western front... They're resting before the game.
