Where should Vesalainen play next season? Moose? Liiga again?

Foley seems ready to transition to the Moose. McKenzie seems like a good candidate, too.

Is Kovacevic ready, or does he spend another season in college?

Jets' prospect pipeline remains interesting.

More forwards banging down the Jets door next year, with Roslovic and Lemieux almost certainties, and Appleton and possibly Foley and Vesalainen ready on the Moose.

Makes me think that Petan's days are numbered. Doubt he'd clear waivers next year.

He has been good, but the problem is that he is Canadian. A lot of competition and only 7 spots

He should be at least invited to camp. The announcement is due any day now isn't it?

I think Samberg will also be invited to USA camp

Suess will need a contract if they want to keep him as well.

I'm pretty sure Pronman already floated out that other teams are going to watch him in anticipation of him going UFA.

With our winger depth, he may actually prefer to move to a different team that he would perceive as giving him a better opportunity. It was floated out last summer that the Jets were looking to sign him. I don't think they have given up on him.

Yeah for sure he'll get an invite. Samberg impressed the coaches in Summer showcase so that should earn a invite for him too. I think Stanley, Vesalainen, Samberg, McKenzie and Berdin will all at least make the camps. Virtanen could also make the camp if he'd get healthy asap and stayed that way for a change. Cederholm was Sweden's u20 captain at some smaller tourney, but honestly I have no idea how Sweden's defense is this year, and if Cederholm is even good at hockey.

I think Stanley has a chance. He's had a strong season.

Definitely on the radar for sure. That camp will be tough to crack on defence though.

Lefties:
Bean
Clague
Mahura
Joseph
Johansen
Stanley
Cholowski

Potentially: Mete, Girard

Righties:
Foote
Makar
Timmins
Bouchard
Fabbro

The biggest competition is on the left side. I think Foote, Makar and Fabbro will likely be picked as the righties. Lefties will likely be Bean, Clague and Mahura though Mete and Girard could potentially go and if they do they likely boot someone out. It all depends on how the coaches plan on building the roster.

Yeah, if we assume Spacek, Harkins, Appleton, Foley, McKenzie, De Leo, maybe Lemieux and Roslovic, maybe Suess, not much space.

Would love to see him in NA, but probably another year of liiga?

Maybe he comes over for camp and just wins a spot outa camp haha.

Vesalainen is now leading his Liiga team @ 0.62 points/game. That ranks him 3rd among u-20 players in Liiga (with 10 or more games), behind two D... Heiskanen and Juolevi.

McKenzie maybe? I don't think Samberg has any chance to make it this year, so somewhere between 1-4 Jets prospects. I'll guess Vesalainen and Berdin make it, Stanley and McKenzie don't. Too bad Germany isn't playing since Gawanke would have probably made that team
love to see Berdin ham it up on the international stage after another goal.

Did McKenzie even play in the Can/Russia showcase?

If he didn't then very little chance he' being considered.

I would bring Vesalainen to NA next season and play him in the AHL, there will be room in the lineup if the Moose move on from guys like Kramer, Beauvillier and perhaps even Cormier. He is physically mature and his English is good so it's not as much of an adjustment issue at 19 as it would have been for someone like Niku

Suess may go the UFA route but I don't think there will be too much demand for his services. There will be opportunities on the Jets roster, so it's not a bad thing for him to just sign with the Jets (and get that tempting bonus money in May that no other team can offer him)

I am more concerned about Foley though, the Jets have to sign him next summer and can't risk him going back for his senior year

Kovacevic should also be signed and play in the A next season

Some of you may remember seeing a Finnish ad where Vesalainen throws a Jets cap away and puts on a Jets cap. In that ad he basically says one more season in HPK. Based on that, I'll put all my money on him playing at moose next season.

Chevy just will have to get rid of some older players if it looks like there is not enough roster spots or icetime for the prospects

edit.

I can see Roslo and Lemieux making the team next year and they would replace Matthias and Hendricks.

Roslo is as near a lock as can be at this point. Lemieux has a good chance and don't count out Appleton. Lipon is likely gone and DeLeo isn't doing enough to get another contract. There will be room in the A for coming prospects.

Stanley's on their radar and is having a pretty good year. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

He almost certainly will be invited to the camp. It's a position of strength for Canada though.

I honestly think Petan is done with the Jets. I mean, I'm not saying he has no chance left and things can't turn out differently but me personally, I'm ready to bet money on it.
