We can go ahead and assume Pearson is done for the year, btw. Broken leg or broken ankle. Those aren't quick recoveries.

Everything from insider et. al. is comparing it to the Kopitar injury in 2011. So yeah.

This year is a nightmare. We're going to be a playoff team, but with so many holes and so many things going wrong, we'd need a miracle to make some noise. We have a potential miracle in net, so there's that, but we're so thin right now that I hope DL doesn't sell the farm just to salvage this year. May have to just regroup, see what we have here, get a top-4 d-man of some sort, and play it out. See what happens. I expect the team to fight and scrap for every point though like they did tonight. I definitely do not question their heart.

Time to see what the hype around Nick Shore is. Will be a nice test to see if we can let Stoll walk in FA and have this kid fill in Stolly's shoes.

All these doom and gloom'rs....

It's not that bad..... bones heal... 6-8 weeks then time for conditioning and a little pain as the joint remembers how to work.

This is pretty much the last year the band is going to be together... some pieces will have to move after... Lombardi isn't just going to throw in the towel.... just need to fight through it.

More like cold hard realism. I don't think DL is going to give up yet, but as another poster said, this year has black hole written all over it. At this point I wouldn't want Pearson to rush back when there's no point in doing so. Let him heal up the right way.

The team is resilient and they have heart but I just feel like the last 3 years have taken an absolute toll on their bodies. Especially Brown and Richards. Dudes are both shells of their former selves. I have no idea whats going on with both of them but they are the same guys they used to be.

Getting a top 4 defensemen will cost us the farm. Teams that are selling are not very willing to give up players. A name to keep an eye out for is Marc Methot. Upcoming UFA, played alongside Karlsson all of last season and I think he's gone by the deadline. Shouldn't cost much. He won't fill in Voynov's role but he can be a top pairing guy with Doughty and have Muzzin play with Regehr and Martinez with Greene. Lombardi will want Yandle but Yotes will be asking for Toffoli ++

See, I don't understand how anyone can watch that game tonight and say that about Brown. He is getting some absolutely misguided hate about his game right now. Crap on his production, sure, but not his overall game.

Every time I think about the Voynov situation I get upset. There's no point in doing so because its out of my control but it still rustles my jimmies something fierce.

I thought Brown had a great game tonight, he led by example and did everything but score, he'll begin putting up points, perhaps even more so now with the extra added pressure of our two young sharp shooters being out for a while.

Gaborik-Kopitar-Brown
King-Carter-Williams
Clifford-Stoll-Lewis
Andreoff-Richards-Weal

?

Jezz what the hell happend.

I'm not all that worried about Lombardi selling the farm.... assuming Voynov doesn't get banned from the NHL Lombardi could move him to recoup some of the costs of acquiring a replacement. Still don't see Lombardi giving up Toffoli. His production at that cap hit would be hard to replace.

Back to Doughty in the shootout.... I actually like this... guy has an insane compete level.... he won't like getting in the spot light and missing.... It may force him to work on his shot/ shoot out moves... could pay off in the game when he decides to crash the net....

It'd be awesome if we'd be able to bring up both Shore and O'Neill. Put them on a line with Andreoff. That line ripped it up in the AHL for about the whole time Andreoff was down there.

Would be nice for the fresh legs if nothing else. This team has to be mentally, physically, emotionally exhausted right now. I know I am as a fan

O'Neill just got injured tonight so I doubt he'll be be a callup. Shore on the otherhand would be nice to see get a taste.

Mayor thinks it's Nick Shore and Jordan Weal. Says if it were up to him, it'd be Shore & Forbort. I'm excited to see Shore play, Monarchs writer & Mayor have been raving about this kid all year.

We know how hungry Weal is too. I hope O'Neill gets healthy and gets a shot too. Usually not enough cups of coffee to go around (fortunately) but this may be one of those seasons we really stretch the organizational depth

I don't ignore anyone here, but that poster is getting close.

As for Brown, I wasn't necessarily talking about tonight. This season in general. As a matter of fact, every year the guy has looked a step slower. He was snake bitten throughout the playoffs last year, I know he's a great leader and does other stuff but he's not the same guy he used to be.
