So...vibe check for game 3. How we feeling? Are the ICE ready to kick it into high gear now that they have figured out proper zone entry technique against Seattle? Or will BIG BAD BRAD and his good buddy, the notorious ICE tormentor Spicy Dyl skate circles around the ICE defenders?
People are overrating the difference between the two teams. People talk about Seattle like they should just kill the ice. This series is very close.

Yeah, I agree. Not sure if it's the Lambert factor around here or what but a lot of people around here seem weirdly in awe of Seattle, like it's a 1980s action movie and they are some sort of invincible Soviet Super Team sent to crush the capitalist pig running dog ICE. I mean they're a good, deep team but they're not THAT good.

We saw on the weekend that this series is likely going to come down to who executes better and makes fewer mistakes.

I went to the Wpg Ice game on Saturday in Sandals... Sandals!!!

I genuinely asked my buddy if this was in contravention of some kind of TNSE dress code/policy.

I literally brought runners in case they turned me down at the door lol.

Tell me your NHL team sucks, without telling me your NHL team sucks.

Like is Seattle probably favoured? Yes sure. Absolutely. They definitely have more name value. But seeing people say stuff like “now Seattle is playing their game” “Seattle in 5” and seeing people try to provide Seattle excuses for game 1 was weird.

If they beat the ice in 5 or 6 games I wouldn’t be too shocked because it’s hockey but it’s way closer than the public thinks imo. Call it cope or whatever.

Draft Picks:
Allan and Dach are so overrated. This is not remotely the same as Guhle and Sourdif. Allan was rated as a second (late second or later for a lot of people) and Dach was only drafted that high (R2) because of his brother.

Yes, Lambert does make up for it a bit because of where he was initially rated (high 1st).

Guenther is great too. Geekie was drafted too high as well, I will concede. As for the other picks, I’d think Pederson should’ve been picked and a team will give him a contract after this season. McClennon was picked and Flyers did a dumb. I’m also not sure I rated Schaefer as a first rounder.

World Juniors guys:
Much is made of all the world junior guys on Seattle. People forget they don’t take the best players, and they don’t even take the best players for their roles. Some old dudes choose the team. How different would we be talking if Benson/Savoie made the team (like one should’ve honestly) and Lambos didn’t get cut? I wouldn’t have taken Dach. I also might not have taken Allan in favour of Mateychuk. I also wouldn’t have picked Schaefer over Benson or Savoie. Savoie could’ve played PK for Canada very easily.

However, the ICE weakness of unpressured defensive zone giveaways will be far more likely to be the reason the series is tilted than in overall talent.

You could probably put together a reel of all the ones we've seen this season that could legit induce a stroke in an otherwise healthy adult. They win in spite of them, but man, this would be a great time for those to stop.

The ICE need to keep playing their game because we saw how frustrated that made Seattle in game 1. I think Seattle thought they’d waltz to the Cup, but the ICE are a tough team. But Seattle is a better team, no question. A lot of that falls on management for refusing to load up.

Hopefully Ostapchuk steps up. They need him to be better.

Anyway, the ICE have the depth to hang with Seattle but they’re not in a good spot now after losing on home ice. Hopefully they can take two of three in Seattle.

incredibly fast high skilled game. Winnipeg getting burned by being too aggressive, overcommitting, not getting support, then losing assignments. Full marks to Seattle, they are a great looking team.

Lambert showing off his speed and skill on the 3rd goal.

Giving up three goals in under a minute against a team like Seattle is going to be a hell of a hurdle to overcome. T-Birds were moving incredibly fast during that stretch. Kind of wild seeing so many ICE players get schooled like that in rapid succession.

Seattle just far more talented than the ICE. It’s unfortunate but could kinda see this coming.

Still, hopefully we can steal at least one in Seattle to bring it back to Winnipeg.

Management should be ashamed of themselves for not doing more while Seattle loaded up. Inexcusable.

Is Ostpachuk hurt? I don’t think I saw him? Benson is the real deal!
