if they’re confident theylll resign Brock I don’t hate it. With all the turmoil around the team and the concerns around Pettersson, there’s something to be said for retaining a core guy like Brock. Especially if keeping the team competitive in the short term is seen as key to getting Hughes to re-sign

Who should the Hawks have traded (in addition to Jones and Hall)?
A lot of Hawks fans say we should have traded donato with one side of their mouth while bitching that we have no NHL talent with the other side.

Avs certainly got better. People underrate the Necas-Rantanen swap IMO. Our powerplay has been dominant lately because Necas tend to cycle so the whole PP has to. Different than just Rantanen waiting for a crosspass one timer.

On the deadline I thought Avs pretty much overpaid almost every trade but got better. It makes you wonder what the team would’ve looked like if they just kept Kadri which I was strongly against.

I weep looking at the Avs and Stars. Man, that's not fair. Wild...we realistically couldn't do much so not going to say losers but I'm fine with Nyquist and not enthused about the other one so it balances out.

Ottawa are winners.

Got out of the walking ambulance in Norris, while gaining a player producing at a similar rate, who is younger and cheaper.

While simultaneously gaining a much needed top-9 winger with speed for almost nothing.

Good day if you’re a Sens fan.

To everyone saying the Habs are losers this deadline.

There is more to building a team than acquiring assets. What does it say to your young team that is 5-0-1 in their last 6 and are 1 point out of a playoff spot if you sell for picks you don't need? Playing meaningful games is more important than our like 6th 2nd in 2 years.
People overvalue picks and b-level prospects so much. It's picking the mystery box over the boat.

Vancouver - F
Moved Soucy, didn’t capitalize on the sellers market

Edmonton - D
Didn’t address needs, but got a bottom 6 forward and bottom 4 defenceman for depth. Kane likely struggles but he’s the biggest addition they get.

Vegas - C
Didn’t commit to anything stupid

Florida - A
Think on paper they did well
