Jared McIssac has been playing well lately. I have been trying to watch more AHL games and he is routinely noticeable for the right reasons. He is on the ice in overtime and last Friday picked up the gwg in OT and tonight picked up the primary assist in OT.
I am intentionally, arbitrarily, ignoring the first 4 games of the season due to it just being early in the year.
In absence of advanced stats in the AHL (lol), this season in 10 game stretches:
Last 10 games, 1g, 5A, +3, 13 SOG.
Previous 10 games, 0g, 1A, -3, 7SOG
Previous 10 games, 0g, 0A, -2, 13 SOG
Previous 10 games, 1g, 3A, -9, 13 SOG
Previous 10 games, 1g, 3A, -4, 18 SOG
First 4 games of season, 0g, 3A, +3, 3 SOG
I am not expecting him to turn into much, but nice to see him having a nice little stretch after a long bad stretch. I hope that he still has a chance to play in the NHL, but I am not holding out hope he turns into much more than a 6/7.

I wonder how much better his hockey career might have been had his dad not drafted him. He put a certain amount of expectations on a kid that simply didn’t deserve it.
