Trade down, actually.

Yeah, somehow changed the sentence while typing. True, trade down, getting another pick for it. Still in position to make a good pick though - and then selecting exactly the kind of player you don't need anymore in today's game. :skeptic:

If he becomes an NHL player, he's the guy you want to play against physical/cheap shot teams.

They took a home run swing. Maybe it works out.

Wouldn't mind him playing in the CHL instead.

Have you seen Ryan Reaves play lately? And Reaves looked like Gretzky as a teenager compared to Cleveland...

I'm asking why you feel that way out of genuine curiosity. Mike Hastings is a coach that can squeeze every ounce of potential out of unheralded players (Wisconsin has already surpassed their win total from last year in 15 less games). How do think Cleveland do better in the CHL? I'm not trying to call you out because I like your posts, hermano.

In Tomas "Hossa-like skills" Jurco news...

You ignore the coach and decide to be insubordinate, after being lazy on the ice, and then throw an elbow?? I’d bench him and healthy scratch him for a bunch of games. Even his teammate was telling him to stop being a bitch lol.

Coach still doesn't have the right to physically grab a player like that.

He is a hockey player. It is a natural reaction to come with the elbow when someone grabs him like that. What did the coach expect?

Why not? He didn’t strike him.

For a sport that includes some of the highest levels of physical violence you can come across, up to including career-ending injuries and death, it’s very strange to have the position that a coach can’t grab a player when the player is being a problem child.

But he obviously didn’t want to be a part of the program. And now he has quit. Best for all parties. Coach and team can move on without a distraction, and Jurco can go find a team that has lower standards. And fans that demand hockey continue to get softer can root for him there :naughty:

Ok. Now what do you think would happen if a player were to man-handle a coach?

I see coaches in hockey and football grab players by the jerseys pretty often. My perspective of the video is that it didn't get crazy until Juro threw the elbow, and no that is not a normal reaction for a player on the bench/sidelines.

Considering it's a 20 second clip of only the craziest part I'm sure there is all sorts of context missed, too. If I was to take a wild guess I would bet Jurco and the coach had been having some issues well before that clip.
