What would be more interesting is compiling a list of players that were healthy scratched in college that made the NHL.

Rumor is, Charlie sucked at school, not hockey, lol.
I am sure a lot of NHL players have been healthy scratches for college games, especially as true freshmen. A lot of NHL players (especially defensemen) have had pretty ordinary college careers,

Bigger question is why do people think that 6'5" 210 lb Cleveland should play in the CHL, or why is playing college hockey bad for his development?

Hate to break it to you, but the dude isn't going to develop an offensive game. And I don't even know a CHL team would put him on their power play when the USDP team didn't last year.

Let him play college hockey and just pray that he turns into a poor mans version of Mattias Samuelsson some day or whatever.

We're talking hockey, not football. Kids on a professional path aren't gonna go to a school where they get healthy scratched. That's why Jugnauth left. Above all, they need playing time.

I tried to think of the worst college player possible, even LGD played 35 out of 41 games as a walk on, not sure if he was scratched or injured in those 6 games.

Samuelson never got scratched and went pro after 2 years in college. Plus he has more than zero points.

I think it would bet better for Cleveland to go CHL and get more playing time. He's not gonna learn how to handle the puck sitting in the stands. (I assume they don't sit in the press box in college arenas.) PP doesn't matter, he'll never get PP at any level. He needs to learn to PK.

Nope. He is a Wausau kid who committed to Wisco back in 2021 before he even joined the program (and when Granato was still trying to right the ship). I appreciate that you have nothing to do with hockey at any level, but please appreciate that the best US players in their age group (and this includes Cleveland) will start committing to colleges in their Bantam years. It is wildly stupid, but an accepted part of the CHL/NCAA recruiting race.

Brady is in good hands with Hastings, who knows you win with older players in the NCAA and you don't gift playing time to 18-year-old NDTPers (something Granato couldn't figure out).

Something tells me that Cleveland is going to be living rent free in your head next to Dennis Cholowski

Players commit and they decommit. Heck, Jugnauth just left the program THIS SEASON,

You act like you know something about hockey, yet you think Cleveland has a chance of sniffing the NHL, lol. I just hate bad prospects, Cholo is no longer a concern. Zadina might be renting for a bit longer though, lol.

Yeah, and I gave up hockey a long time ago to focus on skiing. Back to watching hockey because my body's shot. Skiing isn't much of a spectator sport.

BTW, you never bothered to answer my question.... since you claim to know so much about professional development in college hockey, name a player that was healthy scratched in college and made the NHL?

lol at wasting more than a moment's thought on Brady Cleveland.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up a career ECHLer.

If Brady Cleveland ever plays a minute of NHL hockey I'll post a video of myself drinking milk out of an old shoe.

It's confirmed that Roomba with a Bauer is Old Greg.

The least you could do is charge Brady rent. For the record I am not about to go back through college game logs of the 300 + NCAA alumni in the NHL. Feel free to count this one as a win if you like. The first guy that comes to mind though is Nate Schmidt who I know had a mess of a freshmen season.

Honestly I have no idea what this kid will look like three years from now. I know he won't be running a power play, but I am not yet ready to make any predictions beyond that as I have not watched him play any hockey this season. Perhaps you can and report back to us on that. More important, however, I am not losing any sleep over Brady Cleveland.

Enjoy the snow

Mike Eaves sat Brendan Smith. I don't care to weigh in on this discussion; I just like answering trivia questions :thumbu:

Draper is a much bigger problem than Cleveland, Brady is just another wasted pick. It's just funny that you throw an arrogant attitude like you know something about hockey, then just throw some stupid word salad when questioned. In other words, you don't know shit either, lol.

Brady occupies no space, lol. I'm killing time while my Matlab scripts run. Waiting for Draper to trade all of his picks for a burger at Miller's.

Probably for the same reason he got benched everywhere he played, lol.

Ah yes the old word salad retort. What an honor coming from Ray Babbitt. You would do well in a Republican primary debate. My opinions on hockey are well documented around here for everyone to see and judge.

If you are going to come on here and ramble on about prospects, you might as well try watching them from time to time. You may actually like it, and it does not require that you drive in any cities!

Portland just gave up so much for Danielson, wonder if he stays extra year, not bad idea, in minors.

He'll be 20 next season and eligible for the AHL. If he does as well as he did last preseason he'll earn himself an NHL job

Your opinions so far have been garbage, lol. You're rarely right about anything.

If you think Cleveland is worth watching, you do you. I ain't wasting my time. The kid's got freakin' zero points. You don't need to watch to figure out he's got no skills.

Edit: I went through your posts, 99% of it is word salad, lol, and no meaningful hockey information or insight at all.
