Would love to have T.J Brodie in Detroit, Doubt that Calgary does it though. I would think that Treliving would want more then Tatar+2nd for T. J Brodie though.

Montreal could use Tatar 2nd line LW and move Radulov to the RW on that line. This also opens up the center 3rd slot, bringing in McCarron. Add the size Montreal finally needs in the lineup.

Smith could play bottom pairing with Pateryn to shore up the defense.


2 expiring RFA's in Tatar and Beaulieu along with 2 expiring UFA's in Smith and Desharnais.

I just don't know what the plus on Montreal's side would be or what the Redwings would be looking for.

Doubt that Detroit has any interest in Beaulieu and DD is a smallish winger/center Detroit doesn't need Detroit is trying to get bigger not smaller no thanks to this. deal.

Fire sale is out of the question with Kenny, Tatar + Smith/Ouellet could be a package used to get a dman, but I believe other gms want Mantha included in a deal for a dman. If we can land someone like Vats I'd consider it but it would be tough to let Mantha go, seems like a perfect player for the organization going forward.

Holland isn't gonna move Kronwall. Leafs could probably offer Matthews and Holland would still say no because he loves his vets so much.

Nonis ended up going elsewhere, but considering Anaheim’s reported interest in Anthony Mantha, it raised eyebrows.

What's the cost of Tatar or Jurco to LA?

Jurco? Surprised to hear his name come up.

He'll probably be on waivers at some point within 30 days.
I would think a 5th round pick would be plenty to ensure he ends up in LA rather than a top waiver priority org.

really? DET can certainly use players who can play right now IMO..
EDM will gladly trade 2017 1st for Green.

They could use 'top end' or better players... but they definitely have more then a boatload of 'NHL players'.

As evidenced by 2 players already getting claimed on waivers and a 3rd sure to come once Vanek and Jurco return. (Oullette, Sproul or Jurco will have to be exposed if a move is not made)

Not to mention Mantha playing in GR, despite the fact he would be in the lineup if he was property of any number of NHL teams. Quantity is not the problem.

Kronwall only has 2 more years left after this one, And Kronwall would be a cap recapture penalty should he retire early so he's pretty much a no go and Holland likes his vets to much.

Bobby Ryan's contract is a killer, Really can't afford him. Shedding Nyquist isn't enough Smith would need to go as well.

Bobby Ryan @ $7.25 million for 6 more years would be a problem. Seeing more then likely we will more then likely be giving big money to Larkin in another 2 years or so it wouldn't surprise me if Larkin doesn't get about $6.5 million per for 8 years or so once his ELC is finished after next year.
