A bit of a buzz on the weekend when three Anaheim staffers (director of player personnel Rick Paterson, special assignment scout Dave Nonis and scout Mike Stapleton) were listed at back-to-back AHL Grand Rapids games. Nonis ended up going elsewhere, but considering Anaheim’s reported interest in Anthony Mantha, it raised eyebrows.

Beaulieu
Desharnais
+<- Whatever is needed to make it even.

For

Tatar
Smith

Montreal could use Tatar 2nd line LW and move Radulov to the RW on that line. This also opens up the center 3rd slot, bringing in McCarron. Add the size Montreal finally needs in the lineup.

Smith could play bottom pairing with Pateryn to shore up the defense.

2 expiring RFA's in Tatar and Beaulieu along with 2 expiring UFA's in Smith and Desharnais.

I just don't know what the plus on Montreal's side would be or what the Redwings would be looking for.

Begrudgingly yes.

For Glendening@50%

Thats what I figured. As long as it was for the duration of his next contract. I'd say its a decent deal for both teams, if detroit were to go into firesale (doubtful). I also absolutely love glendening as a bottom 6 PK player and he'd be great centering a bottom line or playing next to kruger for when dejardins moves on.

I'd add Mccarron. There needs to be a pretty big plus.

Detroit isn't going to do a firesale. That is bat**** insane. Even if the Wings don't make the playoffs, as long as they're in the top 20, Ken Holland will just placate the masses by reminding everyone about parity. Any other team and this thread makes sense. But it doesn't when your GM is the guy who hasn't traded a core player in over 16 years.

I agree. He would fit perfect into Chicago's system.

And, thats a good return.

Also, on your comment on "fire sale" ...Detroit needs one.

Bergevin should give a lot for Zetty (Dream of Zetty-Galchy-Radu) in the playoff.

Sorry not trading our Captain, And besides he's a cap recapture penalty risk should he retire early. And that's bound to happen with Vancouver.

I am not disagreeing with you, I have always stated guys like Zetterberg and Hossa would NOT get moved due to each team badly needing that contract in house to control it.

Then again Nashville just did the unthinkable and traded Shea Weber pretty much near the peak of their potential recapture penalties. I think most figured they committed to him for life as well

Stranger things have happened, but again, I do agree with you and I dont think Holland would ever risk the recapture
