I don't understand Keefe on that last goal before the end of the first.

He has a line of Nylaner - Tavares - Kerfoot on the ice with Justin Holl.

That's a defensively suspect centre.
A winger who can skate, but do nothing else.
A winger who has decided he doesn't need to try for the last 3 months of the season.
A defenseman who doesn't defend opponents, but normally spends his time in no-man zones.

Imo, cujo was a disappointment. Never played like he did on the Blues. Then he abandoned the Leafs to play like shit for Detroit.
Fun fact. He retired as a leaf
So did Clarke
and Legend that is Olaf Kolzig

Although Olaf never played a single game as a Leaf

It's not just today. Holl has consistently proven to be a liability. For every 10 good plays he makes he makes a very costly one
and if you judge D based on just %, you are not going to do well.

Different players bring different qualities to the team

Schenn does too, or do you just not notice them? Well actually, he can't even string together 10 good plays before a costly one, but those are pretty high standards for any NHL defenseman so I won't hold that against him too much. I would just prefer Schenn to make as many good plays as bad ones at this point, but even that is a struggle.

He gave the puck away on a backhand with limited pressure: Crickets.

Constantly losing puck battles to guys much smaller than him below the goal line (and actually got away with some holding calls as a result): Crickets.

His mistakes got bailed out. That was the difference. And he generated literally nothing on the ice in the first period.

Holl's one "mistake", which wasn't even a mistake because he was taking the pass like he should have, and we have 3 pages of whining about it. The rest of the period, he was excellent.

Schenn gets in a completely unnecessary scrum with a guy: 3 pages on how he is a god and a completely necessary part of this team.

Squeaky wheel is the loudest I guess, and unfortunately the squeaky wheel has a lot of faults and double standards...

The weirder one for me is that he often throws Holl out there when he loads up an offensive line witb 3 of the big 4 instead of putting them with Liljegren/Timmins/Rielly.

It was created by nerds who believe humans can't trust what they are watching. Basically they think they're smarter than everyone else.
LOL comon' go sort by xGF and you will see all the best players. These are the excuses people who can't do basic math use.

not surprised the softest in the playoffs of the big 5 is on a rest day. Since when is that even a thing. The guy just entered his prime he's not 35
