No Rangers fan who isn't close friends or family with McKegg wants him to get more even strength time on ice than Chytil, Gauthier, Hunt, or pretty much anyone the Rangers can put out there. This doesn't mean Gallant is a bad coach or needs a huge course correct on how he handles the team. We are past the halfway point of his first season, but we've had our fair share of forwards missing time, making it difficult for him to set lines and growing pains at least a little more understandable.
The Rangers had the better chances tonight (I think the underlying analytics would show that) and ended up with a point. Of course you want 2 points, but there are some people who think a night in February proves the Rangers can't win a playoff series. A team can't lose a shootout to a team like Detroit without being labeled a pretender? I read someone wants to trade Strome for a 3rd round pick. What are we talking about here?
