So who's wearing our letters this season?

C - Greentree
A - Abraham
A - Spellacy
A - Mathurin
A - Cristoforo

Does this look accurate? Missed the first game so I don't know who was wearing letters then.

According to the OHL site, tonight it's C Greentree with Abraham, Cristoforo, and Mathurin having the As. However, Mathurin is a late scratch.

That Froggett save is a save Joey usually doesn’t make. Saves like that is what could win a game or stop the bleeding or keep a team from getting the momentum. That being said he should have had the first goal.

Missed assignment by defense.

Lemieux was the 2nd pick and was signed and he stays all year. Auto A card. Cannot be sent down to B or traded as he was not a 1st rounder. That is why Davis wasn't signed initially and the year before Manzo. Second picks ( not necessarily 2nd round) stick if they signed with the OHL club. Both 2nd picks overall by the Spits signed with Lasalle so they could be sent there. Nothing new here. Just this year with 6 signed with 2 being US born players makes it confusing and highly rare. Garden, Windbiel, Belchetz, Lemieux make the roster based on rules. Belchetz and Lemieux are the 2 regular roster spots and Garden andvWindbiel are the 2 allowed wild card roster spots. 4 total 16 yr olds as per CHL rule book. Hicks and Brocklehurst are Canadian born so they can be sent to Jr B. If Windbiel and Garden were Canadian, Bowler could have assigned any of the 4 to Lasalle etc.
I might have missed a post but where are Windbiel and Garden playing when not called up since they can't go Jr B?

The first goal was a bit of a hiccup but that save might be on the OHL season reel.

I like the potential that Greentree/Nesbitt/Belchetz brings. If they can get some practice in together, that could be a dangerous trio.

3-1 after 20. Let's keep it going.

Garden is playing for Windsor.

The overtime goal is odd to watch on replay. I'm all for Dmen pinching, in the right situation, but Walton and especially Eichler were near the blueline. Davis and Nesbitt are near the crease. How does that happen?

You don't like to give up a three-goal lead. But, they had won six-straight, been playing very well over that stretch, and still get a point out of it. One of those "that hurt, didn't it? don't do it again" games. I almost wonder if they were looking ahead to the home opener?

Froggett played well, though I think he should have had the second goal. That looked like a bad angle 5-hole one to give up. The first one was bang-bang, not great but understandable. Second was not great. Then you have a breakaway and Eichler not getting his man, followed by a scramble in OT. I think he played well, just needs his linemates to tighten up defensively.

Get back at it on Saturday. It's looking like 5,500-6,000 crowd, which will be very nice.

Not happy blowing a 3 goal lead, then coming back to tie the game at 4 in the 3rd to force OT,now if u had told me the Spits have not lost in 7 straight including exhibitions going 6-0-1 in the process and only 1 of 7 was actually at their home rink, start the year with 3 of 4 points on the road I would grudgingly take it.
More positives then negatives overall,do I think Windsor would have lost with Spellacy, Mathurin and Protas in the lineup, no I don't think so,Mathurin their best defensive dman missing hurt especially in OT,Abraham taking a misconduct late in the 1st not good for a vet, game was 3-1 at the time, tied when he got out, especially when dressing 11 forwards,Froggett I thought was fine better early then late should have had 2 of them, won't blame him on the winner.
Belchetz was ordinary last night 1st time we have seen that since he put on the uniform, surprisingly doesn't lead team in rookie scoring he does have 2 assists in 2 games, however JC Lemieiux has 3 assists in the same time.
Pk last night much improved last night however going 6/6 while the game before it was 2-4,PP was 3-4 in Saginaw but 1 for 5 last night.
It is all a process looking forward to tonight
Go Spits Go.

Disappointed with Eichler out of position and running into another out of position Walton on their OT goal pretty bad when Davis was the closest to shopping the puck and boy he did try
I think in some respects they will still be paying the price of last year. A lot of the same D and yes you hope they improve. You just hope it happens sooner rather than later. This is why Abraham taking 2 minor penalties in the 1st game and a 10 minute misconduct last night matters.

I haven't seen this team take a new identity yet with Walter's coaching. Still same style of game as last year. Yes, we will outscore the opposition most nights until teams tighten up or we hit a hot goalie. Discipline still an issue for the usual suspects. Sure we have 3 of 4 possible points to start on the road looks excellent on the surface. Is Walter's demanding a defensive style? If he is they have not got the memo. Without Mathurin last night, this D will make any goalie on this team look bad. Nothing new, but I believe if Walter's starts holding players on the bench or a night off to think about it, maybe they will take their position seriously.

Ya forwards must support the D. With the push from the NHL to want defensive guys more engaged with the offense it only stands to reason the forwards must be more engaged with the defensive side of the puck. Not seeing that much in Spit land

I've been very impressed so far with the improved play of Nesbitt. For me he shows as a leader the first 2 games. Already feel better when he is on the ice than last year. Be safe.
