WINDSOR
Well we got a stellar Goaltending performance with JC. Hoping frustration doesn't set in with him.. Cristoforo on the tying goal was horrible. Take the non puck carrier and let the goalie take the shooter. Good grief. Basic defense. Peer needs to learn this is not a non-contact league. He doesn't physically engage ever especially forchecking and I'm sick of it. Eichler stupidness reached new level. 2 games to think about already a short bench. Again we are neither an offensive team. Another low shot output. I could say offensive opportunities have been reduced because of playing a defensive style but that would be a big ass bold face lie. Suck at both ends. A few great goaltending performances have earned our few points this year.

The good….Probably one of our best games of the year.outplayed Soo in all but the last 10 minutes of the game.Super game from Costanzo.
The bad…..coaching decisions. Understandable they were playing without some of their best BUT with 2 min to go you have to put your best on the ice.
The ugly…..unless he is on waivers, is being traded or injured there is no logical reason Jodoin wasn’t dressed.

Was wondering about Jodoin as well. Only 3 ohl D left now. Rest Jrb guys that will be overwhelmed today. Jodoin maybe not as good as some but at least he will not back done. I think this game will get ugly quickly.

I would start Michelone. Not going to be the best game anyway so why burn out Joey after his start last night.

Peer needs to sit so Jodoin can play if Jodoin is even in the Soo. You can tell Peer is just coasting to his education package. Not wanting to get hurt is obvious.

Looking for a miracle on ice today. Again hoping the Soo knows they can win with ease so they come out flat.

Keep it close and make them earn it!

Wouldn't be surprised that there will be 6 players out of the lineup with Abraham unknown injury),Eichler (suspension) added to the list thar includes Greentree, Dionicio, Woodall and Nesbitt.
Could see Lavigne inserted into the lineup on the D,suspect he made the trip seeing as he did not play for La Salle tonight in their victory.
I think assuming I am correct about Lavigne that they intended to play both Hjelholt and Lavigne 1 game each, didn't count on using both in 1 game, now that Eichler is out, think we will see this happening.
As for starting goalie I would go with Costanzo not Michelone, Costanzo gives Windsor best chance at gaining a point or 2.
As for Jodoin,if he were 19 years old not 20 yes he goes in,actually would have been in the last night were that be the case, now I would not put him,not worth taking out your 2nd highest point getter Peer, when already your best 2 players Greentree, and Dionicio and they are 1 and 3 points wise, with Abraham maybe outl too, plus in the last 6 games Peer is tied in points with Dionicio and Christopoulis 8 each, and Greentree has 7 in 4 games played.
Go Spits Go.

Windsor played half a game.
Scored early.
Few guys had good jump.
Bad defense.
Bad coaching.
Not enough hits or shots. Got too tired.

Well were up Sh!ts creek with no paddle in this game coming up here today But For how shorthanded we were in last night's game I thought most of our players showed a good effort. Most players were playing both ends of the puck and competed out there. Costanzo played his best game of the year, it was solid enough for the team to get the win but just ultimately wasnt meant to be. Sucks to lose the way it happened.

Cool to see the Joe Thornton Retirement night, He was a great professional and Will miss watching Jumbo Joe. To bad the Spitfires couldn't spoil it for him haha.

Expecting a blow out loss today but who knows I wasnt expecting too much the last two games either and was happily surprised with the overall effort. Anything can happen in hockey. Let's see if it's a chippy game if frustration boils over.

Only good thing about a few regulars out is younger players and guys with lesser roles get a chance to play bigger minutes and gain experience.

Go Spits Go!!!

It hurts to call up players from a winning environment to the opposite. The bigger issue is the threat of destroying players confidence. BB sent them down to positively develop their skills to the next level. The opposite is certainly possible, and IMO that is why BB originally placed them in LaSalle.

Eichler 2 games suspended for stupid play
Not going defend the slewfoot, it was a slewfoot but I'm wondering out loud if Eichler understood what the call was for? He seemed baffled. Do they even call that play in Europe? Maybe they just call it tripping there? Anyway he needs to be mindful of those types of hits, could hurt someone.

This is one thing I've been wondering for a while - does he know all of the NA rules and penalties? I'm not saying he shouldn't but does he? During the World Juniors, we often see NA players get called for things that they're baffled by because the IIHF has a different/stricter set of rules. Again, not justifying it but curious. It was a stupid move to make in the final seconds, regardless. Either throw a check if he has the puck or lay off completely (and wait until today, if needed).

I feel for Costanzo; he deserved at least a point. You don't stand on your head and be happy with nothing.

While I'm looking forward to seeing Lavigne play, I'm kind of surprised they're not scratching Maillet and putting Jodoin back there for some experience. Their most experienced D right now are Toms and Cristoforo.

Hopefully this one doesn't become a sh!tshow; they have London on Thurs and I'd like to see as healthy of a lineup as possible.

Pretty bad when we have 1st year D’s except Tom’s & Christo… and Jodoin can’t crack the lineup.

At the same time, I see how the 3 forwards playing all provide more.

What’s the game # to burn a card? Jodoin’s at 8… and we’re SUPER short on D. Possible to assume he’s seen his last game and is just a morale guy that’s liked in the room and is being kept around to practice/hangout with the boys as a trade hasn’t been found?

At this level it seems odd to keep a guy around for no reason… but he’s not pushing out another OA, even when we have 4 rookie D’s, yet everything I’ve heard he’s well liked, just doesn’t have the skill set to keep up.

77 should just be cut.

This is rough for Windsor. Rebuilding is one thing, but having all these injuries and going with a defense consisting of mostly rookies is a recipe for very few wins. No Grentree, Dionico, Woodall for a while, yikes.

The team is clearly playing more of a defensive mindset these last five or so games but its basically all defending with the hopes of some odd man rushes to score a few goals. That is not Spitfires hockey, these games have little entertainment value. Again, this team will struggle to win 20 games. Could get a lot better quickly next year but the rest of this season is basically an unwatchable team.

Well to be honest this SOO squad is nothing special at all. Playing a totally depleted Spitfires team with 4 rookie d-men and missing its top 2 scorers and they can barely beat us. The SOO is going to completely deplete their draft cupboard if they want to be a real contender.
