Uphill Battle in the Soo the Next two Days. Especially Missing the Offensive abilities of Greentree & Dionicio. On the Bright side are defense will be a bit better defensively. I Like Dionicio's Offensive abilities and Edge he Plays out there with but there's a difference between being an Offensive D-man and being out of position for half the game. Pick your spots to jump in, that's what the Best in the game do.

Anything is Possible though after taking down Kitchener a few men down. IF you Play as a team, play the correct way and have coaches that can change and adopt their gameplan as the game progresses then we might have a chance. If we get one Win here in the Soo I'd say it was a successful Weekend. Impressed & Surprised with the Game against Kitchener and I hope for another Good Effort from the Boys in the Soo.

Go Spitfires Go!!!

Well hoping for competitive games today and tomorrow. Christopoulos back in helps cover the loss of Greentree but it would be nice to have 2 scoring lines but alas we will have to wait for that. Any points will be bonus points, they can do it if they want it. Hoping the Soo takes their wins for granted like Kitchener did Thursday.

I will assume the goalies split the games but for me a hot goalie should get the BtoB if there is a win tonight.

I really want to see Spellacy and Abraham play together. I think Spellacy would get Abraham's motor going. Abraham has the speed to keep up and Spellacy needs some help on his line.

Tom's played great Thursday and I'm sure he will be pumped for this weekend. He played the type of game the Spits need, just play D and let the forwards worry about the offense.

Heard Dionicio is in concussion protocol. Can anyone confirm that?

Play like the scouts are watching! ( it worked Thursday!) :)

Windsor Star confirms both Greentree and Dionicio are out for the weekend.
Unfortunate injuries mounting up,with Greentree out 2-4 weeks reportedly, Woodall 3-6 weeks confirmed, Dionicio this weekend at least, and with Nesbitt away at the U17s,a good thing for him,no doubt all 4 would be nice to have in the lineup at the Sault these next 2 games.
Not surprised Manzo will be the 6th D this weekend, he played well in his debut, only lineup changes I see other then Manzo going in for Dionicio, would be Struthers in for Stewart upfront little more jam in the lineup.
Joey gets the start tonight, and as Outsider opined if Costanzo and Windsor wins tonight he should play tomorrow no doubt.
Just looked at lineup
Hjelholt not Manzo is in for Dionicio,he will be 17 in mid December, is 6'3-205 lbs, shoots left.
Also Struthers is in the lineup out is Grenwell not Stewart.

Windsor should win 1 of these 2 games.
Probably will be high scoring.
Could have a winning week. Different for sure.

Well our 2 minus leaders are out so maybe there is some hope with Christopoulis on fire and the turnaround of Spellacy the last few games.

They may be our 2 minus leaders for the season so far, though should be noted in the last 5 games where the Spits are 3-1-1,Dionicio is tied with Eichler for 1st in plus minus with a +5,while Greentree is tied for 2nd with +4 numbers in his last 4 games of the last 5 with Abraham and Maillet.
Now Christopoulis is on fire in his 1st 4 games with 7 points,4G,3A(+2) and Spellacy has 2G,0A in the last 5 games (+1).
Plus and minus numbers sometimes does not tell the whole story re certain players, and I think Greentree and Dionicio reflect that.

I wasn't including Dionicio. It was Nesbitt and Greentree. No doubt both high potential as young players in this league. The fact that Greentree leads both the team in scoring as well as tied for worst minus is still concerning to me Greentree has been a major defensive liability to date. He has 17 points and is still a -9. That will concern most scouts as a 200 ft game is coveted in the NHL. He needs to work on and be much better on the defensive side of the puck. I am not saying he can't do it. But If you score 2 goals but have 4 scored against you while you are on the ice that game, did you really have a great game? Not as a team player in my book. Too much is made of offensive production numbers in hockey. We hold goalies on this blog to a higher standard, talking about 1 or 2 they could have had saved. Shouldn't the same critique be used for players? Vegas proved last year balanced team with decent goaltending and defensive structure still rules. We are currently last in the West for goals for and the worst goals against . Some say we are too offense minded but stats show we are not a good scoring team and certainly not a defensive team. I agree the last few games has shown hope. Granted shots are down but so are th goals against. Coaching starting to make a difference? Possibly. The next 10 games will be either a turnaround or solidy us as a bottom feeder. We have enough talent to be mid pack, do they have the coaching and determination game after game? Hoping so. Saginaw has had a horrible start, and I expect they will make the changes required to be a quality mem cup host by the end of the year.

Joey gets the start and a surprise Evan Hjelholt draws in on D. Going to need to play a strong team game and do the small thing to get the win, definetly outmatched and experienced on paper.

Well you just knew the Hounds woild somehow get the win in regulation. Someone needs to talk to this Eichler and teach him some discipline. How many penalties has he taken in the last five or so games? He should be sat for a few games when he comes back. It's a lost season anyway doesn't really matter. Down 3 d-man now along with Greentree. I see another ugly losing streak coming.
