Woodall was out tonight, and the Spits chose to call up Manzo rather than dress Jodoin. Playing Jodoin would have meant sitting another OA. If Jodoin can't crack the line-up when they are short a D, he won't ever crack the line-up. He should be released immediately. It is best for everyone to do it now, rather than January 9.
Yes.
He shouldn't really been given a card at beginning of season.

I gave credit to Michelone on Friday but last night not so good. ID hit the post at least 6 times. 7 goals 6 posts is 13 shots you got beat on. Yikes.

I had suggested earlier that Spits should move 1 of their OA's up front for some picks and an OA D. You won't get a stud D but at least one that could settle this mess down.

Don't think Smith is on the chopping block yet but why is Delmore still here? D has been bad, real bad since he got here.

There are some bright spots for sure. Agree with others Woodall has been a pleasant surprise. Greentree has tons of skill, size and the motor to be a top player in this league and beyond. Nesbitt will figure it out. You can see the skill. Spellacy needs wingers that can skate with him and think the game quicker. Greentree and Spellacy together might be the ticket. Christoforo has been good just has no one that can play with him right now.

I forgot now but is the draft lottery weighted? Finishing last gives you a higher percentage of getting the first pick? It's October and I'm already concerned with the draft! Going to be tough year.

These are the next 12 games on our schedule…..

When you are the last place team there are no easy games. Hence the result last night.

Well I enjoyed a solid game because i passed out on the couch after the 2nd period haha!!, woke up to a WTF happened?....

Didnt Watch the Third at all but guessing our coach didnt rally our boys and get there heads on straight for the third period because Niagara came out in the third with a more aggressive gameplan and got the job done.

Abysmal team structure and accountability out there for poor play. Vetern Players should be benched or scratched and trades need to start being made. Us fans can see the direction were sailing in and its time to send a clear message to these players, big names need to be traded and a "re tool" for the next two seasons is required if we want to be relevant. We have a solid 06/07 class, time to trade 03-05's out and build for the future.

Jarred Smith hasnt proven so far to be Head coach Material. Not because of our record but it's how were losing games and the same patterns game after game. Players aren't listening or your game plan is not up to par in this league either way the sand in the hour glass must be almost gone, I mean how long can this carry on. Appriciate Smith's time with this franchise but this leagues no charity. Guess will see how long Bowler goes on with this.

At this point I figure were in for a long season. Still going to watch every game and look for the small positives out there like Greentree, what a delight hes been to watch this season. And hopefully something changes and we get to see more wins down the stretch.

Go Spits Go!

I mean, Savard got us to the OHL Championship in 2021-22 so I'm not sure I'd call him useless.

I don't know whether it's the players, the systems, or a combination of the two. When they're on, they're very on. When they're off... it's ugly. They know how to play but something is missing.

Idk sergachev was really good tho

Any idea on if christopolous, Abraham or dionicio or peer are going to be made available?
Abraham not a big return currently with his play so far. The OA'S have some value but Dionicio is a rental being drafted being an import, AHL next year probable. Christopoulis and Peer have value. Maillet is decent but slipping trade value imo OA trades never easy to make.

Christopoulos - could be traded for a solid return but he's also a leader on the team. Unless Bowler is blown away, I don't think it happens.

Abraham - He's a toss-up. He was injured most of last season (on pace for 70+ points when it happened) and hasn't found his groove this season. When he's on, he's a productive agitator who can lead the room. When he's off, he takes penalties and that's about it. I don't want to see him traded but, if he is, I'd hope there are conditions.

Dionicio - This feels like a big chip for the Spitfires. He's great offensively, learning defensively, and will get in anyone's face. Being an Anaheim pick, I don't know that he's back next season. If Bowler gets a valuable piece that's back next season, plus picks, you pull it off... maybe.

Peer - He's a fan favourite, an offensive weapon, and a leader in the room. If he's traded, I'll be shocked.

Other dead wood on this team Bowler should deal with..

Actually the last 4 games have shown improvement in most areas,ie goal scoring,PK and PP,record of 2-1-1-0,overall goals against down compared to the 1st 8 games where Windsor went 1-7,and especially on the road where they were terrible in most areas.
What most people may not realize is that Windsor of the 20 team league have the least amount of experience in terms of years and players and its by quite a margin, and I will illustrate for all to go over.
For example Windsor has 3 years experience on the D coming into this season with 3,and only 2 players have experience Christoforo with 1 and Dionicio with 2,the rest now 5 of them including Manzo have no experience.
I didn't include Jodoin because 1 year he played upfront, last year on D so it is 1 and 1 with him, team still far less experience regardless
Here is the list for the 20 teams 1st number is acclimated years of experience and the 2nd number in brackets is the number of players who have experience. Starting with the Western Conference
1-Saginaw-12 (6) 6-Kitch.-8(5)
7-Erie -8 (4)
2-London- 11(6) 8- Flint- 7(5)
3-Owen SD.-10(5) 9-Sarnia-6(4)
4-Guelph - 9(5) 10-Windsor-3 (2)
5-Sault- 8(5)

Eastern Conference

Kingston-11(6)
Barrie 10(5)
Sudbury- 9(6)
N Falls- 9(5)
Hamilton- 8(5)
Oshawa- 8(5)
North Bay-8(5)
Ottawa- 7(5)
Peterborough-7(4)
Mississauga- 6(4)

As you can see huge difference between Windsor and all the teams in the league as it relates to experience and number of players who have league experience re the D.
Which is why I feel in the last 4 games for the most part signs of improvement despite last night's disappointment .
I am convinced had Peer scored on his breakaway with Windsor up 6-4 after Abraham scored to make it 6-4 Windsor would have come out on top.
Goaltending while better overall in the last 4 then a good part of the 1st 8,team only allowed 9 goals in the 3 games prior to last night with either goalie playing.
My view both have to much better moving forward, not convinced Michelone should stay, but Joey must be better soon.
My next post below I will illustrate something else to furthur my belief of things should be better.

As I mentioned before the last 4 games have shown improvement in many areas,PP is a little better 20% last 4 was 9 or 10 the 1st 8 games,PK has improved was 64.5% 1st 8 games last 4,81.25,(13-16),goal scoring 22 goals 1st 8 games ,19 last 4 games.
Team wise here is a look at for the players plus minus the last 4 games
Peer-+1 Woodall(0) Manzo+1
Greentree-+4 Walton-1 Winegard-1
Dionicio-+4 Morneau-2 Nesbitt-1
Christopoulis-+1 Martin-0 Jodoin +1
Maillet-+3 Spellacy-0
Christoforo-+1 Smith+1
Davis-+1 Eichler+5
Castle-(0) Greenwell-1
Abraham-+3 Struthers-3

Like I said things certainly better then the 1st 8 games, with things to shore up on,goaltending, defensive awareness consistently.
Have been impressed with play of Christopoulis since returning no doubt missed 5 points in his 1st 3 games back including 2 goals,Peer and Greentree has been very good,Maillet better lately 3 goals in last 4 games,Dionicio with 2G,4A in his last 4 games, should have mentioned Peer and Greentree both 7 points last 4 games,4 points from Christoforo from the backend.
Players that need to improve include Abraham, Smith and Castle, both goalies
Looking forward to seeing how they respond vs Kitchener on Thursday, then 2 back to back at the Soo Geyhounds next Sat and Sunday.

WINDSOR
I absolutely agree we have inexperienced D. Our 2 best D are both offense first mentality. Dionicio and Cristoforo. That falls on Bowler for not providing a balanced D group with experience. Our goalies have been inconsistent for sure but unrealistic to expect goalies to save the defensive struggle from the team as a whole. The passengers need a new location. Hard for the rest of the team to put out 110% when a few take most nights off. Players aren't stupid wondering why they catch an earful and others do not. Sitting a few would show the youngsters hard work pays off. Thats on coaching. If you can't get ternagers to follow your plan, then you have little future in the coaching ranks. They have been better yes the last 4 games but had some softer opponents. The next 10 games not easy at all.
