Still all in on Struthers move? That's 2 healthy scratches last 3 games.
Yeah Struthers is a 4th liner at best. Even on this team. His defensive play is not horrible but adds zero offense. O points. Even Joey has an assist. 6 roster players with zero points and another 5-6 with only1 pt. Not good 10 games in. We need centers. We have 8 centers as their natural position and maybe only Nesbitt will develop as one. Morneau great 3-4 line center and then it is a free fall. Spellacy, Abraham, Maillet, Stewart, Struthers, Stewart, Martin none who are number 1-2 centers required to lead a team. As mentioned by many, the team rode Johnston, Maggio and Cuylle's dominence. When teams double teamed them the others picked up the juicy scraps and open looks. Don't forget Wright. He only played 20 games regular season and was still 10th in scoring on the team. We had 2 super skilled NHL caliber centers each of the past 2 seasons. They did outscore our lack of defense. Not happening this year.

surprised that know one has mentioned much regarding Spellacy..a bit of a disappointment so far IMO, I don't think anyone could have imagined being 10 games into the season that he would be pointless! I'm sure most people coming into the season had big hopes for this kid. The season is still early so hopefully he can turn things around soon.

Well pleasantly surprised with the win. Team is trying to minimize odd man rushes probably at the cost of offense but it got it done tonight. Michelone damn awesome effort. Peer credited Michelone for the win hands down. Surprised he was not one of the 3 stars. We got lucky on 2 maybe 3 posts. Badly outshot. Still too many undisciplined penalties but squeaked out a win nonetheless. Add Castle to the passenger list with Abraham and Smith as part timers I saw slew foot at the end mainly because Doucette made sure to throw the body backwards. Intentional or not it is a dangerous play anytime a players head may smack the ice. Not every hit from behind injures a player but the likelihood is increased hence the rule.

Does a Dionicio Chromiak deal make too much sense?
Windsor would have to trade Dionicio 1st to another team then deal with Sudbury for Chromiak, they won't take on Dionicio, would have to trade like they have to with Chromiak.

Noticed online at league officeDavis got credit for a goal, with 3 seconds left,so he had 2 on the night, explains why faceoff was at center ice with 3 seconds left instead of in the Sarnia zone.
Score wound up officially 4-2 Windsor.

I agree with Castle along with Smith as mostly passengers, not ready to tag Abraham in the same category, coming off his injury from last year, and subsequent surgery, and now dealing with another injury, bubble no doubt affecting his play now, I am waiting on this one.
Tomorrow vs Niagara with the 3rd game in 3 for Windsor I would sit out Smith and Castle, and dress Struthers and Greenwell ,2 fresh bodies don't think their presence in the lineup would hurt might help because they are fresh.
Meant to add been very impressed with the play of Christopoulis no doubt Windsor missed him the 1st 9 games of the season as he has 1G,2A in his 2 games played so far bringing much needed experience, impact to this club.
Can see him being named captain he deserves it.

When he's healthy, I expect him to be a leader and I'm not sold right now. I like his game, I like his potential, and I think he's a good kid, but he's not playing like a first-rounder, at least offensively. If he had less agitation and more offence, I'd be okay with that.

This team seems to be either very solid offensively or very solid defensively, there's rarely a middle ground where everything clicks. Even tonight, the defence was shining but 16 shots through 40 shouldn't win you most games.

One thing I'm noticing - eight different players on Thurs night with a point and another seven tonight. Despite the few shots on goal, they're finding ways to spread around the points. When you can have all four lines contributing at some point during a weekend, and your defence is helping out, you're going to get results.

Worth pointing out - the three top SOG leaders for Windsor are 29, 30, and 31st overall in the league (Dio, Maillet, Greentree). They're at roughly 3 per game with a few others at 2 per game. Just to compare, last season, Maggio led everyone with nearly 5 last season while Christo wasn't far behind pushing 4.

Michelone played very well tonight and I think he's increasing his value. When he's on, he's very on, and that's a bonus for the club. However, he has to show he can do that regularly for me to go "okay, we've got a solid backup." We know what Costanzo can bring. We can't say the same for Michelone, right now.

As for the penalties - like I said earlier, I like that Dionicio and Eichler are getting involved. Dionicio is done taking anything from anyone and we saw that Thurs night, too. A player had his jersey in a scrum, Dio looked at him and said "get your hands off. Now." It was like he was warning the kid to back off or it was going to be bad... and I like that approach. He's more involved in that way than last season and that's the player I was expecting when we acquired him. Eichler is young and, like many younger players, is going to make dumb mistakes. He's aggressive but has to figure out the whole "time and place" thing. Thurs night, he tackles someone (Stonehouse?) WWE style, which probably wasn't necessary. Tonight, he gets involved when Filak takes a stab at Michelone's glove. Do I want him taking penalties? Of course not. Do I appreciate his willingness to say "this isn't happening"? Absolutely. He just has to learn how to not take dumb penalties in bad situations. You want to defend a teammate who just got attacked? By all means. You want to toss someone from the crease if they poke your goalie? I'll applaud it. Just learn timing.

Niagara on Saturday should be a solid test. They're at the bottom of the East but have points in five-straight. They've also done well on the road with a pair of one-goal losses and a win in Erie. They're a bit like Windsor in that they don't have those elite talents but several guys who can score. Can't take them for granted at all.

Davis gets the auto goal as he was hauled down heading for the empty net. Usually the ref points to the goal right away but because of the called slewfoot he raised his hand instead.

Well as I said yesterday Morning, I Am Pleasantly surprised with this Win. For Four periods there, The Last two periods of the Ottawa Game, Plus first two periods of this Sarnia game the Spits were playing dead in the water. No Offence and getting out matched, Stupid Penalties. Then in the Third it took One goal to start showing Life and some emotion again out there, you could just see it on the Bench. That's what the good teams do Not get to High or Low, This Team needs to start doing That. I Am Glad to See Michilone play his best game as a Spitfire. If he didn't play as he did the Spits wouldn't have had the Opportunity to Get this win.

Best chance so far of the Season for Back to Back Wins. Will be Nice to see some Familiar Faces in the Ice Dogs Line Up. Hope the spits bring the Same effort and Determination as in the Third against Sarnia. No team in this league is a walk over and hockey can be a wonky unpredictable sport. That Being said I do Believe this Niagara team is better then Last season.

Being a 3 in 3 I just hope to see a strong compete level out there, Plat Smart and play the Right way. Early season big two Points here.

Go Spitfires Go!

Windsor won
Decided to play 20 min of a 60 min game. Not recommended.
Coaching didn't have them ready. Not surprisingly.
Windsor's few players that are supposed to up points actually did.
Goalie played well with the few goal posts.
Defense nothing new there..
Too many dumb penalties.
Took long enough for the slew foot penalty. Fine tooth comb looking for it. However if that was slew foot than Windsor player should of gotten 5 n game for the cross check in 1st period.
Can they win at home now?

I'm surprised the Walton hit didn't get four or five. It wasn't pretty and Sarnia was rightfully annoyed for just two minutes.

Did I think that Sarnia's one was a slew foot? Yes. No real kicking motion but it looked like a push, which is part of the process.

As for tonight... the return of Ride, O'Flaherty, and Sobolev. It'll be good to see them.
