Is it just me, or this a rare occurrence this early that 3 coaches are out?
Yes. I will say in regards to Dent back in late June the Firebirds hired McParlan as their GM replacing Dent. They also announced Flache and Ruotsalainen as assistant coaches. I imagine Dent had some say but quite possibly very little say in this. When a GM comes in and 2 new assistants are hired I believe it takes very little for the head coach to be looking for work elsewhere. A GM just isn't going to hire 2 new assistants and not look at getting to hire a head coach.

Definitely. Also makes sense to keep someone around to aid in the transition if possible, but either the coach or GM at some point may want to move on in a situation like this.
Just seemed odd, that many so early.

It is not such a bad decision to change coaches, especially if the players are not responding, and the losses are mounting.

A resposible GM would know the pulse of the team, and would have enough smarts to know when to make a move.

Sometimes it's a great decision, at any time.

Central scouting has Greentree as an A ranked prospect. Nice to see. Cristoforo is a B rank

Also looked at Greentrees stats and I see he is in the top 10 in league scoring. Very respectable for a 17 yr old on the worst team in the league. Also hope he doesn't become another Wyatt and stick early in the big league!
Spellacy dropping like a rock?

Yes Hay an 05 born asked to be traded, Flint received 2 2nds,2 3rds,a 6th and 7th I believe for him and a 6th.
Deal probably wouldn't have been done if he didn't ask out.
Could just be me, I do know my OHL hockey but not like some of the posters knowledge, I Know Hay is a gritty two way player but that Haul seems kind of big. IF the Spitfires are rebuilding or getting younger however you want to word it and with the way the season has started out Bowler should be Working the phones even to Inquire, there's a few players I would have been happy or content with that return. Saginaw and a few other teams may over pay and that's where Bowler needs to cash in. Lets face it even if we sneak into the playoffs we are not doing any damage more then likely unless there is a drastic change in effort on a consistent basis.

With that type of return you have to think more than 1 team showed interest, hence why it seems high?

Not sure it is such a big drop. Most had him 3-4th round pre this list. If he drops to the 6th round not really a big drop. With his skill set he could go much higher but he needs to expand his game. Relays too much on the "crash" . Needs to find and play with his line mates better. Good coaching would help him. Not sure he will get what he needs.

Assuming that's a reference to the 4 Spitfires listed on the NHL Central Scouting Players to watch list that came out today.
Greentree
Cristoforo
Eichler
Spellacy

A solid four guys on the list and I would not be surprised to see Woodall on the next update. On pace for about 45 points as a rookie d-man with a 0 plus minus which is notable considering the squad is last in goals allowed. Could have five players drafted this year, I think it would be the most they've had in a single year.

Condolences to the Lakeshore Canadiens team, fans and family for the loss of Sylvain Lessard in a tragicaccident. That is always sad and a real kick in the gut for everyone. Hockey is always a back seat to life. He played his career locally in Windsor minor and a couple of years with the Flyers and Wheatley. Didn't know him personally, but can certainly emphasize with those who did.

7 were drafted in 1986.
