IMHO…….. of course the time out was earlier, memory not what it once was and I was really into the game not taking notes. Another guy I was impressed with was Struthers. Kind of wonder why he hasn’t had much ice time? Bet he gets a shot more often. The slew-foot on Abraham was pretty dicey and could have gone either way….took Hutchinson quite a while to convince the other ref it should have to be 5 min and a game. Probably will cost Abraham 2 games. I saw it as worthy of only 2 min. Another thing I noticed was the rookie (name escapes me) being pushed around a bit by a bigger winger…wish the D man out sick had been dressed so he could have handled that.
A couple of things, firstly I agree without your take on Struthers, handy player to have around,2ndly sources tell me that Abraham will not be suspended for last nights expulsion.
As for the game last interesting stat all 18 goals scored by the 2 teams combined were scored by forwards, no Dman for either scored for their team.
Spits had 12 players register at least 1 point last night, 6 with more then 1 point,8 forwards of the 11 dressed got at least a point, only Struthers, Greenwell, and Morgan didn't,on D 4 all got 1 point, while Lavigne, Toms and Eichler were pointless.
Nice to see Windsor get a PP goal,a shorty,a Penalty shot goal and an empty netter, don't see that too often.
Spits dressed 9 rookies last night,5D,3F,and 1G,Carter Froggett.
Sudbury dressed 3 rookies, including both goalies, though the 1 goalie is a 19 year old Euro and 1 forward an 18 year old forward.
In fact Sudbury defense all 6 were vets no rookies.
DeAngilis did have 2 points for Sudbury both assists, and 2 other dmen had 1 point for them.
Game was certainly entertaining yes overall d play could have been better and goaltending for both teams not the greatest especially both Sudbury tenders.
Unbelievable games from Zito and Spellacy last night,Abraham too 3 points 1st 13 minutes then tossed, officiating was a disgrace by both glad Windsor overcame the disparity.
Spits finished the game with 6 regulars not playing after Abraham 's dismissal, 5 to start, while Sudbury had nobody out to start and they lost a goalie to injury in the 2nd period.
Spits are now 4-2--2-1 in their last 9 and 9-6-2-1 in the 18 games since coaching change,1-1 since impactful trade deadline.
Bottom line for great bounce back win last night against 1st place team in the East, some bumps yep, loose play yep,but overall great determination and effort last night to overcome any negativity from the game before.
