IMHO…..One of our best games this season. Spellacy’s best. This will go a long way to making him into a good player. Confidence builder. Best game for most of our players. I thought Smith in particular had a very good game and if he continues to play like he did last night he has a pro career in his future. Zito was obviously not in game shape but knew where play, his legs forced him to conserve his energy at times but he will really help this team. A great addition by BB. The D had its problems at times but all in all seems to be getting better. Costanzo had a good game for the most part. Coaching was good and in particular called a time out at the right spot in the third and the team regrouped and saved the game. The team played more aggressively for the most part and the key was they didn’t give up when things weren’t going their way. Effort A+.
Pretty sure they called the timeout at the end of the second before a PP

Well said although I don't think that is when the called their time out but just the fact they used is a good thing .

Also agree on Smith. He got back to break up a 2 on 1. Never saw that effort from him previously. This is a nice change if he can keep it up. He has been an easy target for the fan whipping board but nobody giving him credit when he shows signs of improvement. Same can be said for Christforo. Never gets a break on here yet he is only 17.
Nobody saying much about Toms who was a -2 last night when the team scored 11. Fans pick a target and here we are .

I was dead wrong about Zito. I thought he would see limited minutes and not really be noticeable, boy was I wrong. For me he is worth the price of admission!

Enjoy the ride as the Spits never fail to amaze and then disappoint. Who needs a toboggan? Be safe.

Nice offensive output for Windsor.
Spellacy hatrick. He played very well.
Zito helped out a lot.
Greentree was the leader.
Defense was soft. Didn't help goaltending out much.
Abraham played well for 1st 10 minutes.
Then stupid move n well most likely get suspended for it. Selfish. Doesn't help team.

IMHO…….. of course the time out was earlier, memory not what it once was and I was really into the game not taking notes. Another guy I was impressed with was Struthers. Kind of wonder why he hasn’t had much ice time? Bet he gets a shot more often. The slew-foot on Abraham was pretty dicey and could have gone either way….took Hutchinson quite a while to convince the other ref it should have to be 5 min and a game. Probably will cost Abraham 2 games. I saw it as worthy of only 2 min. Another thing I noticed was the rookie (name escapes me) being pushed around a bit by a bigger winger…wish the D man out sick had been dressed so he could have handled that.

A couple of things, firstly I agree without your take on Struthers, handy player to have around,2ndly sources tell me that Abraham will not be suspended for last nights expulsion.
As for the game last interesting stat all 18 goals scored by the 2 teams combined were scored by forwards, no Dman for either scored for their team.
Spits had 12 players register at least 1 point last night, 6 with more then 1 point,8 forwards of the 11 dressed got at least a point, only Struthers, Greenwell, and Morgan didn't,on D 4 all got 1 point, while Lavigne, Toms and Eichler were pointless.
Nice to see Windsor get a PP goal,a shorty,a Penalty shot goal and an empty netter, don't see that too often.
Spits dressed 9 rookies last night,5D,3F,and 1G,Carter Froggett.
Sudbury dressed 3 rookies, including both goalies, though the 1 goalie is a 19 year old Euro and 1 forward an 18 year old forward.
In fact Sudbury defense all 6 were vets no rookies.
DeAngilis did have 2 points for Sudbury both assists, and 2 other dmen had 1 point for them.
Game was certainly entertaining yes overall d play could have been better and goaltending for both teams not the greatest especially both Sudbury tenders.
Unbelievable games from Zito and Spellacy last night,Abraham too 3 points 1st 13 minutes then tossed, officiating was a disgrace by both glad Windsor overcame the disparity.
Spits finished the game with 6 regulars not playing after Abraham 's dismissal, 5 to start, while Sudbury had nobody out to start and they lost a goalie to injury in the 2nd period.
Spits are now 4-2--2-1 in their last 9 and 9-6-2-1 in the 18 games since coaching change,1-1 since impactful trade deadline.
Bottom line for great bounce back win last night against 1st place team in the East, some bumps yep, loose play yep,but overall great determination and effort last night to overcome any negativity from the game before.

This made me chuckle because it's very close to what someone said behind me. Something about "if you have to review it this long, you're looking for the five minutes." With that said, does anyone have a replay of the hit? I didn't see it happen, just saw the player on the ice.

WINDSOR
Was it a slewfoot, IMO, yes but i've obviously seen worse. However, I'd be surprised if he doesn't still receive a suspension. Was a selfish stupid play that could have really destroyed the lead had Sudbury capitalized. Fortunately the player wasn't hurt. The rule is simple, plant your leg behind the opponent's leg and pull their upper body backwards while that leg is anchored and it is a slewfoot all day long. The refs weren't great, but thought they gave Struthers a break on the kneeling to only 2 mins vs a major 5..

Thats a very common move for smaller players, ive seen it let go in that scenario many times. I gave hutch an earful for it as well. Yes i know him and he heard me lol. Bad call but only 1 of many.

Holy crickets around here! lol, any word on additional discipline for the alleged slew foot by Abraham?

Hutch doesnt like Abraham period. This may shine some light on that bias! That move as said earlier is normal for smaller players. That said theres a line between ok and not thats very thin. I do wish we got to see a bit more pushback from coaches when calls are so brutal. Interesting game tonight.

Unfortunately, leagues don't take kindly to anyone saying their officials are bad, even if they are horrible. I'd hate to see what Torres would have gotten if he went off on officiating.

Special guest poster here with some 1st period comments :
Donoso... very sharp!
Eichler, Nesbitt big hits.
Soo take a good penalty, Strothers would have scored his first.
74...turns puck over on that PP leading to D'intino's shorty.
Abraham opens the scoring, gets behind the Soo D.
Greentree scores!!!!!! Deke to the backhand.
How did I do?

Tell me you don't think of me every time you see that Capri ad. I called, ordered a pizza, and the guy says he doesn't deliver to London.
Keep up the physical play Spits!
Yes I remember a certain poster that has an attraction to pizza!

So another guest poster covered most of it but I will add Windsors speed surprizes some teams and when they add the no quit forecheck they are hard to handle. Teams will adjust but Spits no longer an easy out.
