Team new a lot sooner than Monday he wasn't coming back.

Edit - I think they were waiting to announce it hoping he would change his mind.

I kind of figured this would happen. Little was coming from the rink so it felt very "let's see if he can convince him otherwise."

They were figuring out how to spin it IMHO . He didn’t cave in.

Why is the automatic thinking that it's "spinning"? The kid left so "let's figure this out before we tell the world that he's gone" isn't a bad way to go.

It appears that the Star is correct this time. Outwater had surgery to repair his Labrum on April 3 2023 as per Kingston paper.
As I was told in the summer,he ended up not actually going ahead with it -opted for non-surgical options with rehab, physio etc...

I don't know how true it is but an usher at the arena told my dad and I that Zito got in shit from the coach for taking too long of a shift during a penalty kill and Zito got pissed off that he was 'disciplined' for it and that is why he is refusing to play.

Hopefully that's not true.
Other players have had way too long shifts all year long. And nobody blinks as they continue to do it game in and out.

Wrong. Zito was promised a lot and Windsor didn’t follow through. Zito did get into an argument with the coach but not because of a long shift. I don’t think Zito would come to Windsor to only play 2 weeks.

Tbh it sounds a little fishy. Not sure how that info would ever get out and a player not willing to let a coach correct then just seems a bit off.

The Spits used a card on jodoin, so can they bring him back?
If he is on the 50 man list yes. But he wouldn't be because he was released so he could play hockey elsewhere. He won't be back.

If they're going to bring anyone in, it'll be a free agent, an OA forward, or a draft prospect.
They are out of cards. Like they said in the Star they will use associate players but not max them out unless their teams season is done . They also said they are comfortable with running 11 f and 7 d.

There is also a good chance the Spits will be done before any of the JRb players teams are done. So they only have just over 20 games to worry about it anyway.

They can say they're comfortable like that but I doubt the smart people buy it. Going with 11 forwards when 4 of them really shouldn't have a future in the OHL after this year. You're pretty much handicapping your team the rest of the year.

Fair point about the cards; I hadn't realized they were out. So, yeah, bring up Jr B guys to fill in as necessary.

A friend of mine told me about that. Early bird is late Feb with deadline of April 1st. That's before the OHL draft. I would say something about the April 1st deadline but the jokes write themselves. No this isn't on Bowler at all it just speaks about the organization and their operations now. This is pretty much telling STH to put on a blindfold and to trust the organization. I get that to an extent but that's putting a lot of faith in Bowler on chalking it up to one terrible year.

I look at Zito as a once promising pro prospect that was drafted and not signed. His world may have been crashing around.

I remember being 20 with a total lack of direction in life. It was scary. Not disimilar to the kid in Saginaw 10 years ago. I believe his name was Terry Trafford. Also, similar issue in London last year.

Don'tforget to have some compassion for the Kids.

I think they are comfortable because they have very few options and of course they probably have a gut feeling this will be a short season. Next year is more concerning.

Does not take a Hockey Analyst to Know these 2 games this weekend are do or die. Chances are between slim to none we do find a way in to the Playoffs but if we lose these two games then all hope will be lost of sneaking in, if we pull it off we are one point back of the Sting for 9th with games in hand.

Found ways to Lose against the Spirit last week or They found ways to win (like good teams do), either or the Spitfires played some good hockey just not the full 60 Minutes to Win, Was nice to take advantage of a Tired Petes team last week and pick up 2 Points At least and gain a bit of Confidence.

Hope this team treats this game as a Playoff game and comes prepared for Battle. Reliable Goaltending and Structured Two-Way Gameplan is Needed to Win.

Cheering thru the Good And The Bad!!

Last night in Saginaw it was the battle of the Titans. Tonight in Windsor it will be the battle for the Titanic. It's sink or swim weekend. Started last weekend 7 points out of a playoff spot. Starting this weekend 9 points out of a playoff spot. Trending in the wrong direction but maybe the right direction if you want a top prospect. You can cheer it either way but for me a can't lose scenereo.

Now I want to see the Spits finish 68-0 and get the first pick overall to boot. Don't really think I will see that this year but please at least give me 60 minutes of competitive hockey!

I'm sure Sarnia fans are hoping for the same thing. Be safe.

Wassilyn watch continues.
