I know you're on the Canadian side of the Detroit River but there's a fairly significant NFL game today. Crowd was packed last night...just short of 5000 for a big game against Kitchener.

Yeah big NFL game people are getting ready to host parties for, game time being changed, quality of opponent all reasons for low attendance.

Donovan cross checks Greentree to the ice so Abraham retaliates and gets called. Then Saginaw loads up there PP with their top players with 1 minute to go. That is more what you expect from the Green team .

So I don't blame Abraham for defending his captain.
That's fair to not blame him but Abraham isn't the most disciplined. Took a terrible penalty in the 1st. Him protecting Greentree is admirable. I would prefer if he worked on getting his offensive game on track because that has fallen off a cliff.

Windsor wasn't really in the game against the spirit.
From the opening period, spirit was in their head.
Windsor took some dumb penalties.
Too much running around in their own zone. Some not playing their position.
Nobody clearing out the front of the net.
Joey wasn't good.
Greentree with some great work on 1st goal.
Davis grest rush on 2nd goal.
Need to regroup n have better direction for this week.

I have never seen a fanbase so committed to ragging on an opposing player's actions that many of them change their forum name.

Kudos to a rabid fanbase
Wait what? I’m genuinely confused.

If I had another account, it probably would’ve been when the whalers were still active and I was a teenager… and I don’t remember lol

Otherwise, the only player I recall consistently ragging on this season is Colton Smith 🤣

Although they lost on Sunday, did anyone else also notice that team seems to be better bonded with each other? It seemed very noticeable to me.
Actually you beat me to the punch, I was going to post something similar ,seemed to notice a different vibe even when they were down in the score on Sunday.
Last 2 games team only allowed 3 even strength goals total and 2 were against Saginaw.
Toss in 15 different skaters registered at least a point on the weekend in the 2 games played, only player that struggled was Costanzo who got yanked after allowing 4 in the 1st half of the game Sunday,Donoso has played very well his last 2 games in between the pipes.
Only players not to get a point were Struthers, Walton and Winegard.
If you had told me at the start of the year that Costanzo would be averaging 5.05 goals against 2/3 into the season I would have doubted that, especially last year as a 17 year old he averaged 3.01 and save per centage of 903.
Someone not you Cherrydon had asked if Windsor would select a goalie in the upcoming draft, and while I think they will probably more then 1,not saying it will be early, meaning 1st 2 rounds.
Should note 17 year old tender Carter Froggett is playing great in his 1st year of Jr B
In his last 6 games he is 6-0, has allowed only 8 goals in those 6 games, average of 1.34 and save per centage of .952 during those 6 games.
I fully expect to see him challenge for the #1 job next season especially with Donoso graduating and the on going struggles for Costanzo.

Hopefully JC settles down and realizes this is not a championship team this year and to not be so frustrated. Sure the defense has struggled in front of him but he must also take ownership on goals he liklely should have had. 2 way street. Donoso is at a 5.10 gaa in 6 games with the Spits, so not much separation between Costanzo 5.01, Michelone 4.50 either GAA or save %. Those blowout games kill the GAA for any goalie.

I think the opposite. IMHO I think JC knows this is a team that is struggling. therefore he is putting too much pressure on himself to "steal" every game. Hence his very visible frustration on all goals, even the ones nobody is stopping. if he could release that pressure and just play like he can he would be better off. Take this year in stride. Confidence and self induced pressure can be 2 very different things. Be safe .

Yes. Finally publicly announced. Outwater shoulder surgery out till July/ August . Same surgery last year on opposite shoulder. Something of concern moving forward I would think unless surgery reduces chance of repeat injury to either shoulder.

He actually never had the surgery last year - they opted to do rehab instead.

I was just going by what the article said. It said he had surgery on the opposite shoulder last year. Newspaper could be wrong lol.

From TheWhig in late March 2023:

"Outwater has a busy summer ahead rehabilitating his shoulder to be ready for the regular season puck drop in late September. He’s having surgery on April 3 to fix his labrum and hopes to be back skating by July and ready for full contact by the time the regular season starts."

Hopefully this is the last of his surgeries and he can fully recover.

As for Zito... disappointing but I'd rather have players who want to be here.

Absolutely 💯 Spoiled brats not welcome. Commit to the team and play as if it is your last game ever. Win or lose. That is old school 🏒 not all years are rosey.

I didn't mean "spoiled brat" by any stretch. I just meant that if his heart isn't with Windsor, whether that's because of family, school, or otherwise, go take care of that and do what's best for him. It's unfortunate but he wouldn't have been able to give his all here.

I wasn't putting that tag directly on Zito directly either. That statement is generic to all Spits current or future.
