Smith should of been traded back in November..
These are all kids trying to make it, so I don’t want to be a d***, but there can’t be a market. 4th line forward on a bottom feeder that has 9 points in almost 40 games.

I don’t see why anyone wanted him then.. or now. I think we’re stuck with him.

Windsor cycle seems longer than others..
How is the Windsor cycle longer than others?
2017: Won the Memorial Cup
In 2018-2019 they did a rebuild and went 25-33-10
2019-2020: 34-20-8
2021-2022: 44-17-4-3
2022-2023: 44-18-4-2
2023-2024: Likley missed playoffs.

This is obviously a rebuild year and have bought in about 7 2nds, 8 3rds, and more. They will likely have 3 of the top 25 picks in this year's draft. Possibly the #1 pick, and a top 10 Import pick. After Wednesday they might have about 10 2nds in the next 5 years.

If you want to see a long cycle, look at the Erie Otters or the Sarnia Sting.

This is Year 1. Last year was the go for it year. Maggio dried up in the Playoffs and we spent a lot on Harrison and Wright that was all for not. Sometimes your "Go-for-it" doesn't turn out pretty. Has it ever turned out worse? Maybe not. But Bowler had assembled a good team on paper, and looking at the standings, it was a good team too. Just don't pay attention to what happened after the regular season and you'd think we had 3 conference final games at home at least.

Maillet also did absolutely nothing in that first round. Hopefully Ottawa did their due diligence.

Hearing Peer and Kitch is possible.

Kitchener? Or a player named Kitch? Kitchener has Sop, Motew and Martin. Unless Martin injury news got worse they are quite happy with those 3. Martin is rumoured to be back in about 3 weeks.

How about Cristoforo and Peer to Rangers for Reid?? Any takers.

Can’t see Kitchener trading Reid.

I think 21-22 shocked us all. I think we all expected a middle of the pack team (management included) and then we were in Game 7 of the OHL Finals. I think most of us expected Wyatt Johnston back the next year too initially. If he came back instead of acquiring Wright, we would've had a better team, and better stocked cupboards. Rebuilds are painful. Underperforming playoff runs are painful.
This is the first year of the rebuild. Second year of pain.

The only thing Windsor must worry about, is Greentree Johnston-ing, getting drafted this year, putting up 120+ points and heading to an NHL team that could use him for a deep playoff run.

Remember while making a run this year the Rangers plan on trying to host mem cup in 2027. The Spits traded their 1st round pick 4 years in a row during the mem cup teams to try and stay on top.

Brantford Bulldogs are 2points out of first (with one game less) in the Eastern Conference and just moved Donovan (04') To Saginaw for:
2 2nd's
4 3rd's
2 4th's

Wowzers. Gotta imagine Saginaw's almost done… they can't have much left after that.

Market's hot, so is Abraham…
I like him, but it's hard to imagine we couldn't replace 24 pts/34 games, with a different 04' next year that's a bit more durable.

If you were born before 2006, I have to imagine your name is being discussed right now. Costanzo the exception as I feel as if he's guaranteed an OA year.

So Deals with Ottawa Result In:

Out:
Maillet (03) - We paid a 5th and Conditional 12th - Got 2+ seasons out of him
Michelone (04) - We paid a 13th and Conditional 10th - One useful season & one year of his rights mostly played in La Salle

In:
Donoso (03)
2nd
3rd
3rd
5th
12th

What if...

Peer to Kitchener (per the rumour here) for picks...

Then pick(s) elsewhere for another OA?
Windsor signs James Jodoin lolz

Is this a rumour or just someone saying “how about Peer to Kitch”?

Sop > Peer
Martin > Peer
Motew. Kitchener needs D more than F. He is an underrated player. Just fine as a 3/4 dman in Kitchener.

Not seeing Peer going to Kitchener but you never know.

This was more me trying to figure out how that COULD work out. I don't see a direct fit given the conversation so Plan B would be two-part, so to speak. In an ideal world, if they had to deal Peer to Kitch, I'd want Martin back.

Just a rumor right now, his name seems to be a pinball in the circle right now. Smith to … might be off due to DJ’s firing. The info is flowing right now but lots of noise too lol.

Another tidbit out there, Spits will not hire a HC before season end. Plan is to ride this out and see what happens in off season.

Usually quiet so having info might be BB floating it out there on purpose. Stay tuned.
