Just a rumor right now, his name seems to be a pinball in the circle right now. Smith to … might be off due to DJ’s firing. The info is flowing right now but lots of noise too lol.

Another tidbit out there, Spits will not hire a HC before season end. Plan is to ride this out and see what happens in off season.

Usually quiet so having info might be BB floating it out there on purpose. Stay tuned.
Stay cheap Savages..

I would rather have Torres stick around, as he's done a solid job, and then formally hire someone in the off-season. If it's him, great. If it's someone else and he sticks on as an assistant with Newbury, that's fine, too. I think that's smart business right now.

I'm all in on a lottery pick which also translates to better import and round selections higher up each round. This team needs a total gutting outside of our 06's. This year's draft for 07's was limited/weak. Manzo has potential but not seeing ice yet. Nesbitt develops is a big question mark. Froggett stays in junior B barring injury this year to save a card. O5' s Outwater potential. 04's really suck outside of Maybe Abraham. Zhugin ahhh could move on considering better import pick. Eichler potentially worth keeping opposed to a second later round import pick. Really think we are looking to be competitive seriously in 25-26. 27 is another OHL host year so arm's race will be high again like this year for contenders. Unless Bowler buys youth at a price, we are stagnant for at least another season imo.

Even as a child Torres dreamt of coaching the Spitfires.

Riding it out makes the most sense. I mean Newbury was hired because there was a mutiny and someone had to be on the bench. Still want the new coach not have to he saddled with Torres and Newbury.

We’re better with Torres than Smith, statistically.

Would ____ as coach make us even better? Maybe. But this year? Why.

Torres is in a no-lose spot. He won’t be worse than Smith. He has a chance to prove he deserves the job by making something out of nothing. Keeping him as the interim, probably keeps the option to slide him back to an assistant next year if we want. Makes no sense to hire a coach (spend more, and make the coach look bad to general public eye when we finish bottom 4) for a team that most of us on here are rooting for to not make the playoffs. Lol.

I gotta think Peer is headed out of town, no?

It looked like the team was told on the bus-ride to Erie that we’d be selling major pieces.

Even if the market is drying up for Overagers, he’s still going to be worth a couple thirds.

The Maillet and Mancini deals were really nice. I could see a team pushing for it drop an OA to make room for Peer. He’s tied for 13th in league scoring. Waiver wire pickup of an OA makes sense too.

Bringing back Jodoin was a joke… but I don’t think he can burn two cards. Lol

I don’t mind losing a deal to Saginaw right now either. One of those, we’ll get ya later thjngs doesn’t sound bad. Saginaw’s cupboards are EMPTY. Misa and Parekh will have to be moved sooner or later (obviously after Mem Cup) if they want to be a watchable team for the next 5 years.
