LOL they will make the playoffs next year. I assume Bowler gonna use some of those 2nds to bring in some players in the offseason/next season. Gonna get a top 10 pick in the Import draft. Look at the conference, most teams will be rebuilding next year. This is the youngest, most inexperienced D in the league, will be better next year.
I would hold off on this idea that they move picks to get a player. They did that with Outwater and he hasn't been very productive in the least. No lie there are probably 10 or so expendable players on the roster.

Morneau
Stewart
Struthers
Smith
Greenwell
Martin
Toms
Winegard
Michelone
Abraham
Zhugin if you want to utilize that high import pick unless you move Eichler instead

The only one that holds real value is Abraham and even then he's extremely up and down. Outwater is an 05 but he will have to make a huge jump. That right there is half your roster. The 05 group isn't good, the 06 group is good but you still need 13-14 other players. They have 1 07 playing a regular role. Where are all these players coming from to vault this team into the playoffs?

I was going to ask along those same lines. Could we see something like Donoso + Hilton + picks for Michelone + Peer + ?

The only concern I'd have is where does that leave Costanzo? He'd be the back-up, or a tandem at the very least, and I'm not sure he wants that.
We're in a tandem already with Joey/Michelone. I'd love this move, because one it gets rid of the Michelone idea for next year. I'd hate to run what we did last year with a tandem that included an OA goalie Onuska with Michelone (04'). He's been better than I anticipated which has been a pleasant surprise.

We're going to struggle in the back half of the season. I think better than 4-17, but bottom third for sure. Having a veteran goalie that can take a little bit off of Joey's shoulders may not be bad. He's hung out to dry often, and even yesterday was visibly frustrated. He's a good goalie, regardless of his numbers this year. Confidence is huge for goalies, and his is slipping behind this team.

That's my concern - you'd have two guys who are starter material. Do you trade Costanzo, too, and bring up Froggett for the second half? I'm not sure how it'd work. That said, Bowler does this every season (the crazy, "I never saw that coming" moves) so nothing would shock me right now.

If you end up with Donoso, the good thing is he likes a lot of rubber. his best games tend to be when he sees a lot of shots.

The team is 8-5-3 since the coaching change. The D will be more experienced. They have 7 2nd's in the next 5 years, and after this week probably 8 or 9 2nd's. I can guarantee you some picks will be moved to bring in a key player or two. My projection for next year assumes Bowler is able to bring in a strong player, preferably a d-man, in the import draft.

I think it's safe to say the defense will be better next year. Again, I think the conference will be weak next year. Looking at the division, SAG and SOO will be selling pieces after loading up this year, and Sarnia doesn't have the 06's that Windsor has.

What the hell is Flint thinking? Are they not selling? Kressler & Hayes out Mancini in? I guess they did just get a pair of 2nds and 4-3rds but still. Weird to invest that much into this season.

They're in 8th place, one point up on Sarnia, and spent a 2nd & 3rd on an OA Defensemen? I liked Mancini a lot, but I'll take that deal.
Not that I'm high on Toms, but it stops our rotation. Winegard/Toms are both suitable middle-bottom D men on a 10th place team.

Mancini was the last guy i wanted dealt of our OAs. He was the perfect partner for Christoforo. Now i’m a bit more worried if that’s going to hurt his defensive development.
I'm iffy on that. I do think Mancini was a good partner for Christoforo now, as he provided some security for Christoforo. Not so much in the old way of the game, but Moreso, it allowed Christoforo to be less defensively responsible. Which works if you're trying to win, I don't think works as much if we're trying to get Christoforo to be that #1 D Guy.

New D pairing for 74 is the goalie who is not starting the game and will be staying back full time.
I've heard worse Ideas. Both are goalies are now used to being hung out to dry, if they could play together… maybe that wouldn't happen so frequently lol

Not at all. Hang onto Joey. He's got 2 seasons after this one. Donoso is an 03' - we now have the room, and realistically, probably wouldn't be too expensive. I like the idea personally.

Donoso/Costanzo this year for the remainder. Donoso graduates, Costanzo finally takes the reigns and then one of our prospects earns a true backup role/20% time share for 24/25 Season.

After the Mancini move, here's a re-tooling of our return on Dionicio/Christopoulos. With a high Import pick, and Eichler's improvement, I'm all for moving Zhugin out for picks as well if it's there. Our weak 04' group could justify him being an OA, but if we don't roll Sobolev as an OA/Import, I'm not sure we do with Zhugin either.

Dionico
Christopoulos
KJN 2024 6th

FOR

PBO 2024 2nd (currently 6th pick in 2nd round)
BRT 2024 2nd (likely late 2nd round)
SOO 2025 2nd (likely SOO sells next season - high pick)
FLNT 2027 3rd - too far out to project
OTT 2026 4th - too far out to project
Zhugin

I'm head scratching on some of these moves this year.

Brody Crane to Guelph for a 6th?

Niagara traded O'Flaherty, 3rd, 3rd, 4th to London for Brody Crane just 2 months ago.
They basically swapped a two 3rds and a 4th for a 6th. I guess that's just Niagara.

Good day to be a Windsor fan. I'd much rather be laughed at for getting swept by the Rangers and picking a bad coach than half a decade of being fleeced on the GM side of things like Niagara and Flint have been.

Don’t know what Flint is doing but you take that every day.
We know if Peer is moved, he gets minimum a 2nd and a 3rd. Who is left that can take on an O/A?

Nick DeAngelis would have gotten a haul seeing what overagers are getting this year.
