Still trying to sort out our priorities after yesterday and then it will be ‘Such a deal I have for you’. Seriously though we need help in all areas including management .Doubt if much gets done before the Xmas break.
Walton, Spellacy,Outwater and Carter Froggett are in,Manzo,Stewart, Greenwell and Costanzo are out.
Michelone starts.
Should note Michelone is 1-2 in his last 3 starts on the road has allowed only 8 goals in those 3 games and only 5 were 5 on 5.
Let's hope he continues his excellent play on the road lately.

Here - in his last six games, including the craziness last night, Michelone has allowed three or fewer goals in four of them. I wasn't the most optimistic about him coming into the season but he's shown well lately. Credit where due.
Teams will figure him out like they have with Joey.
He will need to be on his game and hope ANY defense from this coaching staff show up..

how is this even possible when he has allowed 3 goals or fewer in 3 games he has started this year? Going back 6 games he allowed 3 goals in 16 min of action after taking over for Joey against Kitchener

Was that Joey quitting after the 2nd, requesting out?? hence Michelone back in the 3rd. Bringing Froggett in to face the #1 team in his first OHL game is as bright as a burnt out exploded light bulb. Good way to ruin a kids confidence. No matter what this team and defense deserves nothing more than the plywood beer league goalie . Mr Sieve. Costanzo was great last year, so what happened? The team and coaching happened. Hard for any goalie going to the gallows knowing that 1 or 2 double digit GA games will ruin a seasons worth of good starts statically.

It's moving the goal posts...

Even if you remove the Kitchener game, three of his last five, four of which were starts.

2G on 32Sh in Sarnia
3 on 43 in Soo
3 on 23 in Saginaw

Blemishes were the 7GA v. Niagara at home and the team atrocity last night, which I don't blame either Michelone or Costanzo for. I'm giving credit where due; after a poor start, he's playing much better.

A couple weeks back I said we were up shits creek with no paddles, while now the boat took on water and were treading water..

Players clearly aren't listening to this coaching staff or the gameplan isnt up to par for the league. If the spits get demolished here in the next two I'd hope Bowler makes the call and fires Smith. No move at this point is a bad move. New voice and style needed. As I've said before losing games and rebuilding I can handle, but were losing the wrong ways.

About the game tonight, expecting to get dominated. Hope there's some kind of fight back after yesterday's humiliating loss but not expecting much unfortunately. Costanzo injured?, or did he just throw the white flag in and ask for a trade?. Gotta be alot of disgruntled players in the locker room but alot should be looking into the mirror.

Side note. The 73s fired Rideout yesterday despite being in first place. I suspect something other then playing hockey likely involved.

He really has only played solid for 2 games this year. Against Sarnia and the Soo. Other then that he has been average or worse. Of course those 2 games might be more then actual games where the whole team has played well.

I would say his last start on the roa d at Saginaw in a 3-1 loss he played well,1 goal was goalie interference but not called and another was a PP goal.
So for me 3 good starts but the rest were not
good and that's including the 7-6 OT loss at home vs Niagara.
That being said his recent road makes it a deserving start tonight

It's hard to honestly judge a goalie performance with the type of team we have in front of them. They can't anticipate normal coverage when there isn't any. 2-1 leads to 2-0 like a soccer goalie on a penalty kick. Which side to guess at.

Not saying he wasn’t deserving since his numbers are better then Joey’s

Should be duly noted Michelone has faced an average of 26 shots per game compared to Joey’s 23 shots per game. This is like counting rice grains in a 100 lb bag of rice. Both are the worst 2 in the league over 5 games played.

I guess we might have an answer during tonight’s game. Perhaps someone will spot Joey at the game. Or perhaps he’s back in Windsor.

Yes. A 5.32 GAA dwarfs a 5.68 GAA for Costanzo lol
Joey has allowed 9 vs London,6 vs Saginaw and 7 last night vs Owen Sound in a bit more then 1-/2 periods all at home hard to believe.
Last year did not lose 1 game in regulation at home as a starting goalie this year another story.

If I'm looking at Costanzo's stats, the first thing I'm asking about this season is "who the heck played in front of him?" He deserves better and you can see the frustration/"Here we go again" on his face after some goals.
