Frustrated players tonight. This shot show is getting to them. Nothing good is coming out of these games. Loses are just that and it’s beneficial for next year. But its how they are losing. Theres no flow, no progression of skills nothing! Hell they cant make a tape to tape pass! Bowler should save face and resign!!

This secures 2nd last and a 30% chance to win the draft lottery. These games are ugly, nothing positive to really say. As I said before, at least the worst is over.

Gotta use some of those 2nds to improve the roster this offseason. Adding a stud D in the import draft and a solid veteran D via trade can help quite a bit. Scoring won't be an issue.

Ownership needs to bring in a solid coach with experience. And no, ownership is not cheap, they hired Letkowski (former NHLer) followed by Savard, another former NHLer.

Eager for the draft lottery I guess.

I was keeping an eye on eichler in this one and honestly really liked his play minus missing the stick in the crease on that goal.

Costanzo was weak on the third one but otherwise looked quite solid given the circumstance.

This year is over, and has been over, so maybe I’m not as doom and gloom as I should be.

I agree, an import D to replace Zhugin and a D OA pickup (hold Abraham to start, move the other 04’s, check on Abraham at the deadline), would go a long way.

I was least impressed by Winegard tonight. Failure to move the puck directly cost a goal and he has the size that didn’t seem to come into play. Eichlers a December 05, Winegard is a January 05. 11 months separate them, but Winegard was our oldest D man tonight. Very young group. Hjelholt didn’t look too out of place. Honestly, looked better than Tom’s back there.

I think the top 4 D tonight stay: Christoforo, Walton, Eichler, Woodall.

I don’t dislike Zhugin, but for Struthers and Smith to get PK time over him, to me speaks volumes on Zhugins future here. If he’s 3rd line with a depleted forward group… I can’t imagine they’re keeping space for him as an import OA.

I’m looking way more at the lottery, draft and off-season moves than these next 5? 6? Games.

As far as that 04 group goes, I’m content with moving any of them. OAs will be available, they always are.
Lately, I’d rank Morneau 1, Abraham 2.

The rest? I’d prefer to see moved. There’s 6 total.

I'm not sure about the math on this one. Windsor is four points behind Ptbo and six behind Sarnia. They can still catch both, though Sarnia might be tougher.

A few thoughts before I pass out...

Goals against...

1. Storm forward drives the net around Winegard, passes over to the guy covered by Eichler, and he puts it in. Nothing Costanzo could do.
2. Turnover by Winegard next to Costanzo; Storm get the puck into the far wing, put it high glove on Costanzo.
3. Bowman goes 5-hole on a drop pass. You have to stop that one.
4. Storm get into the top of the crease and put it high blocker on Costanzo. D breakdown.
5. Storm circle the Spitfires' net, find Buchinger all alone blocker side and he makes no mistake. That's on the F who didn't cover his D.

- I'll say it - this may have been the most boring game of the season.
- Spellacy is a beast; another SHG using his speed, size, and shot.
- I know there were a lot of scouts in attendance tonight and they got to see Spellacy work his magic.
- If Guelph doesn't score that third goal, the tides could have changed.
- That being said, Costanzo had a decent game. He just allows weird goals after making big saves.
- This was a team effort loss; only three players were zeros and they were bottom forwards.
- Hjelholt played fine for his first game at home, I believe. Nothing flashy but didn't need to be.
- 21 shots won't win you games; gotta find a way to get the rebounds and continue the pressure.
- Good to see Cristoforo out there; you never know with those kinds of health issues.
- Hopefully Davis is returning soon. I'm hearing it's possible.

Onto the next... Flint on saturday and London on Sunday? Something like that.

Last nights broadcast they said Davis is tentative for next weekend. To be honest why rush him? Other than a last look by the scouts why bother and possibly end up with a more serious injury?

With loses in 8 straight and no hope to salvage the season you can understand why they are looking so lethargic out there. Spellacy seems to understand that this is his last few viewings by the scouts and is playing like he wants to be drafted. Costanzo is also playing hard but has 0 help. If there wasn't so few games left I likely would have switched to a different game. It's tough to watch right now.

You are correct re the math. If Spits beat the Flintstones and ERIE they are tied with the Pete’s. That might bring a tie breaker into effect.

Yes if Windsor gains 5 points in the next 5 games and the Petes zero points then the Spits move above the Petes. Petes hold the tie breaker by 2 ( row) wins but Spits could overcome that with 2 wins. Spits have 10 points available to them so the magic number is actually 5 points. Combination of Spits loses and Pete's wins. Now at 0-8 in their last games, playing London twice, Saginaw once it is a hard reach for the Spits to overcome that gap. But it is junior hockey. Be safe.

This makes me laugh...

I've been wanting to see Sawyer Boulton (Ldn) live all season. Every time they're scheduled to play in Windsor, he gets suspended for something the game before. Tonight, they're home to SSM. I'm thinking... "don't do something stupid!" What's he do? 5 min match penalty for slewfoot. Because of course...
On his second shift. Two shifts too many.

Question - I was under the long-time impression that there is a 13-month rule in the OHL for players being traded back to their old team. For instance - the Spitfires traded DeAngelis to Sby in late Sept. If the rule is in place, they could not reacquire him until late Oct next season.

Does anyone know if this rule actually applies and, if it does, is there a place online to find it?

You are correct. 13 month rule. I'll try to find the rule number but as usual, trade rules, card rules hard to find in English lol

There was chit-chat on Thurs about DeAngelis next season and I wondered out loud about the 13-month rule. In theory, they could do it either way, but I was the only one who had heard of the rule. So, didn't know if I was given wrong info or...
