No I think they are going to experiment more now knowing they are on the outside looking in.

After their last home game, Torres said they're going to experiment, work on different things, and see what works for next season.

As for Zhugin - I don't see him back next season. Get a top young F in the import draft, have Eichler back, and you'll be fine.

Might as well keep experimenting. They been doing it all year.
Seems to be going well hasn't it...

I think a D is what the import 1st round should be. Goal scoring shouldn't be an issue assuming Greentree is back which I believe is more likely than not. Spellacy coming into his own, Davis and Abraham likely an OA. Defense and goaltending will be the key again to make strides.

Import might come down to BPA. It has to be someone's who's going to make an immediate impact ala Sergachev, Koko, etc. If that's a top-pairing D, great. If it's a top-six F, great.

Fair enough just feel earlier slot in that draft should yield a good D. Sergy was a 6th overall import pick. Any word whether the CHL is going to allow Russian or Belarusians this year?

I haven't been mpressed by Zhugin at all to be honest. I'd put Nesbitt with Greentree and Spellacy before Zhugin. If this is a development period to end the season, give Nesbitt the kid a chance. Even with a great draft, this team will be young and inexperienced. Team had no problem showcasing 74 last year as a rookie. First round Nesbitt deserves the same imo.
I agree there’s guys I’d put up there before Zhugin, Nesbitt is my first pick as well. I’d suggest Martin too, see if he’s worth keeping around.

You know our roster is thin when Struthers is on the 2nd line and couldn’t crack the roster pre-deadline. I like Morneau, but I can’t think of another 2nd line in the league he’d center.

Davis/Abraham/Outwater out is brutal, that’s a whole line.

There’s always people chirping “these guys aren’t OHL players” about half our bottom 6 guys.. but when it comes to Stewart and Gaymes… well they’re not lol

Tonight may be a struggle. I’m just intrigued to see Manzo paired with Walton. I can’t imagine anyone finishing + anything to nigh, but I’m looking for the little things to grow on.

Woodall/Christo/Manzo/Walton,
May not be our top 4 next year, but right now they look like the most “for sure” 4 next year.

Personally I think Eichler stays. I don’t see him getting drafted, but he is on central scoutings list

Better hope a good smart scout they have...

Apparently, the "slash" in question on Toure was (if I heard right) a minute-and-a-half into the Mississauga game. It was on Porter Mortone's wrist. I don't think a penalty was called on the play but they reviewed it and worth 5 games?! I'm not sure what to think of this. (it came from Torres on pre-game with Beller)

The Wolves are doing an International Women's Day ceremony and Conor just joined his brother Kieran Walton for their part. That was really nice!

I'm relaying what Torres said - the slash was shortly into the game, went uncalled, and now there's a suspension.

Weird; Misconduct for persisting was 10:05 into the 3rd when he fought. Shouldn't be related to a 1st period slash. I know you are repeating what you heard on the radio but that doesn't jive. Even a non call major slash is only 3 games. Persisting is a supplementary discipline penalty.

None of it makes sense unless Miss asked for a review of somethign earlier while the league was looking at the "brawl" itself? I don't know but that's what's been told so far.

Last night felt like they were feelign sorry for themselves. Tonight feels more like Casey told them "if you're going to be eliminated, force Flint to do it, not yourselves."
