6-1 Windsor after 40.

BTW, anyone see the Bar/Nia game? Eight goals in five minutes in the second period, incl. six goals in 90 seconds. That's... what?

8-4 final. Maggio just said on post-game TV that they might have gotten a little lazy at the end. That's something they have to fix; can't afford to do that.

He also called Ptbo/Ottawa a "wakeup call."

Good to see the offense break out with 8 goals. Wright had 3 points and Maggio and Dionicio had 4. Wright now has 18 points in about 8.1 games, it will be nice to finally have him playing on home ice in Thursday's big game. Dionicio has 29 points in 23 games as a member of the Spitfires.

Giving up 4 goals isn't ideal but it is what it is. London has now lost two in a row against OS and Guelph, so for all the problems Windsor has, London also isn't perfect. They also have another 6 straight road games including games in Windsor, Sarnia ,North Bay, and Barrie. A win on Thursday and the Spitfires are back in 1st place.

Hopefully, Abraham is back on Thursday. Any chance Sobolev will be back Thursday?

Good to get the expected win but 4 gaa from a bottom feeder iniury plagued team is still nothing to brag about . Win all 3 next week. Go Spits!
Agreed, nice to get the win, didnt like giving up 4 either, though the positives overall far outweighed the negatives, PP goes 3/5,PK goes 3/3,7 players scored at least goal,12 players had at least point,
5 didn't, Renwick,Christoforo, Holmes,Morneau and Stewart.
Hopefully Abraham returns Thursday,Friday latest.
Doubt we will see Sobelev and of course Spellacy.
Spits return home for 2 of the next 3,will be interesting to see who starts vs London.
Myself I go with Costanzo this time vs London,Onuska 0-1-1 this year vs London while Costanzo is 1-0,Friday I would start Onuska at Flint, then back to Costanzo Saturday at home vs Sarnia.
Spits are 7-0 at home in their last 7,and Costanzo is 10-0-0-1 on the season at home, hopefully if he starts the streak continues,Windsor certainly a different team at home then road,3 regulation loses at home,11 on the road.
Perfect illustration of home vs road,Windsor finished 13-7 vs the East this year,10-0 at home,3-7 on the road.

Agreed, Windsor not the only guilty of taking things for granted with a big lead.

On another note, wondering with the Jr B leagues seasons ending,if Windsor will sign or attempt to sign a couple of players to plug while injuries still plague the squad.

2 guys that come to mind are forward Jack Greenwell (17) drafted in the 5th round last year, lead his team in Komoka who are not in the playoffs this year in scoring with 16G,37A,53 points in 45 games, has good speed, plays center and the wing, and the other is Jacob Crisp(17) who plays both D and F,was drafted asca D last year in the 7th round, plays for Oakville has 2 games left before their season is over, upfront for the 1st time, scored 17G,18A in 40 games, but also had 134 minutes in Pim,suspended 3 times, despite being 5'9"-170,plays an aggressive game, finished the year very strong had 9G,2A in his last 5 games, including 5 goals in 1 game recently.

Greenwell also finished the year, 11 points in his last 5 games,4G,7A,and 19 points in his last 11.

While I don't mind dressing 11F and 6D

some of the time ,I would prefer to go with a full lineup and I do think at least 1 of these 2 should be signed, prefer both, moving forward as hopefully the Spits get healthy for the playoffs.

I was just wondering what the tally was with the East. Another good reason to buckle down and get as many points as possible. Home ice throughout is still a possibility. Always hated a game 7 on the road vs Home. Plus the advantage of starting a series at home and putting those early kill shots in the oppositions head.

Another interesting stat
Windsor despite issues on the road vs the East mostly, are 8-1-1 in their last 10 on the road vs teams in their own Western Conference.
The OT loss was at London 4 games ago and the 1 loss was at Sarnia 7-1 the score.
Note Onuska was in goal for the OT loss and also was in goal in the Sarnia 7-1 regulation loss allowed 6 and got pulled in the 2nd period, this happened Jan 6 prior to trade deadline day.

Biggest game of the year so far this year tomorrow,,,
And our board go quiet???
Everyone a little nervous

Not nervous in the least. We're looking at 6,000+ crowd and it's going to be a fun game. Sometimes, life gets busy so trying to generate a discussion on here takes a back seat.

Don't think people are nervous, lot less activity when they lose then win usually, no doubt a big 3 game weekend with 11 games to go in regular season, with 6 of them at home.
Spits come into this game 11-0-0-0 at home, last time lost at home Dec 28 vs Guelph, Onuska got pulled in that one, last time London was here, their only time here so far they won 6-1 and chased Onuska early in the 2nd period.
Windsor has taken 3 of 4 points so far in London and London 2 of 2 in Windsor.
Costanzo is 1-0 vs London this year,Onuska is 0-1-1 against his former teammates so far this year.
Should mention Costanzo is 7-0 in the latest home winning streak and still is unbeaten at home so far this year 10-0-0-1 in regulation.
Re tonight's game I would go with Costanzo, tomorrow at Flint, Onuska regardless of outcome, and Saturday at home vs Sarnia, Costanzo regardless of outcome of Flint game.
Expecting Spits to dress 19 players tonight with Abraham returning to lineup, doubt Sobolev is back this week,Alec Stewart returned to Caledonia for his playoffs,La Salle will be playing game 2 of their playoffs tonight in Chatham after winning last night but dont play till Sunday after tonight,so for Friday and or Saturday I could see a player called up for one or both of Windsor's weekend games.
It was 40 games ago Windsor lost here vs London huge player turnover since that 5 players acquired in trades prior and at trade deadline, 25% of starting roster,so should be a good one tonight.
For me 1 game at a time, and I doubt they take London lightly.
Go Spits Go.

Somewhere
I’d say give Onuska the road game just for the fact Joey has been struggling a bit on the road but other then Ottawa game onuska has been worse on the road lately.

Its a Put up OR Shut up game Tonight after the Exhibition game against Kingston on Sunday. Those are games you should win especially after getting Humbled in back to back games against eastern Conference teams. this team should be upset after losing to three top teams in a row! Lets see if our Coach comes out with the same plan as usual or if he learned a lesson after the last time we played the Knights. The Hunters know what there doing, they've been around so long they adapt and beat you different ways. Hopefully Savard and this Coaching staff can come with a more well Balanced game plan and make better decisions. Also hope to see a good showing from our players and play a 200 foot game, Physically engaged game. Lets see if they give Joey a shot at the Knights tonight or if they give Onuska some kind of redemption. Need to see a better team tonight against the Knights, its going to be a tough weekend again if they dont bring it!!

Go Spits Go!!!

Joey should get the Thursday/Saturday this week. How do you not put our best goalie out against our toughest opponent?

Costanzo has been rock solid at home, give him the two home games against the other two teams in the Top 3 in the Western Conference. If Onuska is guaranteed "X" minutes or whatever Flint Friday and Guelph, Saginaw, Kitchener would be great opportunities over the next two weeks

Thanks for making everyone aware of this. It's sort of like pointing out that the goaltender has a possible shutout going into the 3rd period. I doubt that either goalie would appreciate this knowledge being touted to one and all. If just might leave them feeling jinxed. :lightningbolt
